California Dreaming — Restaurant in South Carolina

We had a great dinner today. The nachos appetizers are really good. The BBQ chicken is my go-to and it never disappoints. The broccolini was super yummy as well. My Bf had the hot chicken sandwich and fries. Today's service was amazing, even better than the food! Kelsey was very attentive, kept the drinks coming and got our food out quickly. They were a bit busy, but did not skimp on the service. Also, everyone was wearing masks 😷 yay! They also have shields between each of the booths. They have established excellent Covid safety protocols.

Today we did not have good service. While the restaurant had plenty of wait staff, our server today, Elizabeth, did not provide good service. She seemed to be walking in circles, drinks took a very long time to arrive, and my bf never received ketchup for his fries. We were almost done with our meal by the time she checked on us a 2nd time. The first time she checked in about our food we let her know that bf wanted another beer, ketchup and I needed more tea. She returned with the tea, but never brought the ketchup. The beer finally came towards the end of our meal, but not before I watched her stand for at least five minutes, looking confused at the screen in the server area. Kind of like she wasn't sure how to put in another drink order. The food we had was excellent and tasty, but the service means we won't be able to return again. Great ambience, food tasted a little lackluster and had to be replaced once because it was cold. However management resolved it promptly. upscale restaurant expect to pay a good bit. Service was good, Chris did great.

Had reservations, the ambiance hasn't changed. It's still a great ambiance. The waitress we had was good.

The wings that I had were some of the best wings I have had in a very long time... When I think of grabbing good wings, I don't think to go to California Dreaming... But after tonight I just might! They were baked extremely well not to the point of being burnt but to the point of making them crispy. The inside was still juicy and the Nashville hot flavor was subtle they weren't overbearingly hot which was a good thing.

My date had a rib eye and the rib eye was NOT worth the $36 that it was advertised for.

It had an overbearing taste of basil that would make you want to spit it out. The flavor was bitter and far from gratifying.

Service from Haley was great. She was very attentive although she did come across as snooty in the beginning. I personally have to sit facing the door and she made a snarky comment about that which I didn't appreciate. She also made a snarky comment about "Glad you found something you liked?" I found that to be borderline offensive as if I couldn't see anything on the menu that I wanted. Then to top it off they don't patronize military except on veterans day. I came here for my birthday, I have never had a bad experience before tonight! I made a reservation online and upon arrival they told me they couldn’t accommodate all my guests. They pushed two tables together, but told us they couldn’t add another table for 2 of my guests, so They split my group up. The waitress started off kind but ended up being very rude and frustrated with us. It took so long for our food to come out and when it finally did everyone didn’t have food or was missing food.At least three ppl sat with no food, while different servers and a supervisor kept coming to ask us what had been ordered. My reservation was at 6:30, we didn’t leave until close to 9pm which was only about 15-20 mins after we received our food! One of the managers(Craft) was very snarky with us and made unnecessary comments. Towards the end we were approached by a black lady(can you guess my groups race) and we were told that our other server had an emergency and she would be taking over as our server( mind you the other server never left, we saw her continuing to serve on the other side of the restaurant). We did not mind this, but it was very obvious she was sent to “deal with us”. Our new server was kind and understood our frustrations but by then it was too late!
