We arrived at Ginos (our first time)at approx 5pm it was a little quiet and was Assured by the hostess it was going to get very busy Ginos always does. We chose to sit at the bar and Chandler greeted us with a big smile and immediately made us feel at home. My husband requested a Manhattan (which btw Chandler nailed ) I had my vodka and club. The menu was not large but every item sounded delicious and OMG the food it fabulous. I actually thought I was back in Long Island NY. Our appetizer we has the meatball gino (OUT OF THIS WORLD YUM!!!!) and the mozerella coroza. Sauce is very good the meatballs had a sauce with a touch of cream. Both were very good but thise meatballs ROCKED! For my entree I had the Chicken Scallopine with fettuccine with a cream sauce. The chicken was so tender the sauce complemented the chicken and fettuccine I didnt want to stop eating.YUM YUM YUM. My husband had the Veal Milanese which was stacked high wtth the salad but not too much to over power the veal. Veal was tender and salad so good! Sorry we were too full to have desert But will say Chandler is a great bartender never let the drinks sit too long empty her service a quick but not so it was annoyinging. On top of keeping up with her bar and the the tsble drink requests and her bar tables you never really saw her missing. Never missed a request. Thank you Chandler for making our first time at Gino's a memorable one and we have found our new FAVORITE Italian restaurant! Oh forgot to mention we told Chandker we were from Georgetown and check out what she did the olive oil. Thanks again Chandler!

I am born and bread in the New York area which is known for its Italian food. This place could compete with any New York trattoria. We had two delicious appetizers, the cheese and prosciutto plate (pictured) and the meatball appetizer with polenta and parmigiano. The prosciutto app had a fantastic fig jelly which worked perfectly with the fresh bread and cheese. The pizzas were very good considering the area is not known for Italian. The staff was very friendly and the atmosphere was great. We ate at the bar and got amazing service. The place is clean and the decor is very pleasant. Next time in pawleys we will be back.

We also live and dine in Manhattan NYC frequently, The food, service, and the atmosphere is superb☆☆☆☆☆ Highly recommend dinning at Gios.... The two stars ☆☆ are for the mix drinks..🍸🍹🥃 Please Improve on your alcohol content, We have ordered numerous mixtures every time we have visited... All Very weak ... Order wine 🍷or beer🍺.. Always a good experience with the food. But always disappointed with the drinks. And keep that door open! We sat right next to it and it sounded like people were coming in and out of the kitchen...... nonstop... Very irritating...

Great food.. disappointing experiences. Our family has been visiting Gio’s for a few years now and have always enjoyed the food. Yet, the service and overall experience has often been subpar. We have overlooked most issues as “one time occurrences” but after last night, we have begun to see a trend.

We knew we would be arriving to Pawleys later in the afternoon and we did not want to go out to eat. It was Valentine’s Day and I (being pregnant) did not want to fight the crowds. We instead called Gio’s ahead of time (4 PM) to ask if they would be taking to-go orders. They assured us they would be doing so and we mentioned that we would call back later to place the order.

Sure enough, we called back at 6 PM and were curtly and promptly informed that they were NOT taking to-go orders and there was nothing they could do about it. We were left annoyed, disappointed, and hungry.

I wish this was an isolated incident, but just a few months ago we dined in and had another bad experience that left us scratching our heads.

My father in law ordered veal piccata and instead, received the special for that night (seafood pasta in red sauce base). Instead of receiving an apology and an offer to correct the dish, the manager (or possible owner) approached our table and said “You must have confused the waitress” to my father in law. We were so shocked. She then mentioned that the chef could make him the veal piccata, but we would have to wait an additional 30 minutes (After already waiting 1.25 hour for our food WITH a reservation).

Thankfully my father in law does not have a shellfish allergy and is a good sport, because he kindly declined the offer to wait for his corrected order so we could all dine together.

I rarely write reviews, and I hate to be that person who says they’ve “dined all over the world”, but I have, and I have never received this type of repeat disregard for customer service. It is truly such a shame because the food...

The only thing you have going for you is an excellent kitchen staff. This was literally the worst customer service experience I’ve ever had. I am not ignorant to the challenges restaurants are currently facing. I am more than patient and understanding. This was my first and last I will ever come to your restaurant. The parking lot was not full so we decided to give it a try. Came in a little after 7:30 and was told we would need to wait 30-45 minutes. No problem. There were several open tables but I understand you may have been short staffed. At 8:30 the hostess called to say our table was ready. We were standing by the door and immediately walked in. She said “oh no, we need a few more minutes before your table will be ready”. At 8:35 we were told it’s going to be at least 30 more minutes for us to get seated and our best option would be to order to go. We said fine and asked for menus. At this time another couple with 2 children walked in without a reservation and told it would be about 20 minutes wait time. They were seated before we were even given a menu to order to go. My daughter became very frustrated and started to cry. We put our to go order in and asked for bread so my children could have something to eat. It took over 30 minutes to get a very basic to go order. Pull your camera footage of your lobby and you will see for yourself. No one even apologized. The food was good but I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone. Yes, the manager Jenna/Gina (she didn’t speak up for me to hear her name clearly) was very aware of the situation and just...
