It pains me to have to say this, but J peters and Pawleys Island was the worst dinner I have ever had last Friday night, I have had take out before from here it was good ,and have sat at the bar, and always had good service. last Friday I took one of my closest friends there because I told him I had the best prime rib so the four of us head over , The dining room needs an upgrade, nevertheless we stayed and ordered three$25 prime rib dinners. When they came to the table they were so hard to cut through that we sent them back and said cook them some more, I believe they boiled it in Juice from the prime rib it was still raw the second time around. I was really embarrassed because my friend has been the head chef at a popular. Restaurant in Chicago that serves prime rib. Now management was graceful enough to remove the prime rib dinner from my bill. That’s OK, but they only removed $17 dollars from the bill per dinner, and said you did eat the salad , yeah it was just very irritating to me. Now I did get up from the table and cornered my waitress and asked for the bill which was $50 it should’ve been close to 120. I filled out the tip and gave her $15 as a tip , and told her I didn’t feel she should be penalized for a kitchen staff that did not know how to cook nor a manager that obviously does not want to see my business in the future.J peters in Murrells Inlet Two weeks ago was perfect my wife has a prime rib I had some fish our guess had wonderful time, Pawleys Island j peters please get your...
Read moreYesterday, after church, my family and friends decided to have dinner at J Peters. We had a group of 8 adults and 3 children. Upon arrival, we were immediately informed that we’d have to wait 30 minutes for a table because they didn’t have anything large enough to accommodate our group. What struck me as odd was that there were four open tables in the middle of the restaurant. However, the staff refused to push the tables together, stating, “we don’t do that.” In my 30 years of life, I’ve never heard of a restaurant that couldn’t move tables.
Apparently, J Peters only has one table that can accommodate parties of 10 or more, and unfortunately, that table was already being used by a party of six. To make matters worse, the table we were waiting on had already finished their food, had their to-go boxes, and stayed to mingle for an additional 20 minutes. Despite the obvious delay this caused, the manager never approached them to politely address the wait the restaurant was experiencing. Instead, the management did absolutely nothing to help our situation, leaving us waiting for nearly an hour.
The entire experience was extremely disappointing and felt as though larger groups weren’t welcome. The inflexibility of refusing to push tables together and the lack of proactive management made the situation worse than it needed to be. I don’t see myself spending money there ever again. And I don’t recommend this restaurant for...
Read moreFirst time patrons. We both got the she crab soup, which was very good - very creamy w big chunks of lump crab - and a good portion. We also both had Caesar salads, which were fine. A little too much dressing, but the dressing was light, so it wasn't a big deal. The croissant that comes w the salad was very good. I got blackened chicken Alfredo. The serving is HUGE; most of it came home w me. But it was tasty and has lots of tomatoes and vegetables, which is a nice change from typical Alfredo (usually just pasta and sauce). Husband got the filet, which was cooked perfectly and was really good. He also got a side of collards, which were the only not-good part of the meal. They were very bland and needed seasoning and probably some bacon or ham fat, anything savory. Wouldn't recommend the collards, but everything else was great. We'll definitely be back.
(No comment on atmosphere. We arrived right at opening, so there really wasn't much atmosphere to take in. The restaurant itself is fine and clean. And the 2-person booths are larger than standard 2-person seating,...
