How this place has the rating it does I will be eternally mystified. It is pure GARBAGE. I will go out on a limb here and state boldly that ANYONE who thinks this is even a passable Greek restaurant has either never had actual Greek inspired food or dumpster dives to save money on the food bill. Truly the WORST Greek food I've ever made the mistake of ordering. First, the outside of the restaurant smells horrendous. I don't know what it is, but it's truly disgusting. That's your first warning. Second, we walked in and the restaurant is filthy inside. Clearly they have not deep cleaned ever and probably have not even wiped down in a very long time. Look into the corners, you won't like what you see. Third, the greasy looking 30 something guy working the counter looks like he hasn't showered in a seriously long time... Fourth, the prices are about $2 too much on everything you order. Fifth, we ordered food for two people (gyros and Greek fries) and it took over 15 minutes and we were the next order up. The counterman painstakingly wrote down every detail before he ever so slowly turned to the swarthy man in the back who ever so slowly read the ticket, verbally confirmed the ticket, and worked even slower to actually start the painful process of making the food. Keep in mind, we ordered right off the menu- nothing special whatsoever. Sixth, after 18 minutes we finally got our food and it was garbage. The Greek fries weren't bad, but the gyros were terrible. It was the preformed frozen/canned meat sliced and nothing else was fresh either with the sole exception of the tzeki sauce which was homemade and fresh with large bits of cucumber throughout. The gyro was chewy, bland, and slop. If not for the fries it would have been a complete loss. After 30 minutes total time spent and over $30 spent we were offended for all the Greek people who may be mistakenly associated with...
Read moreI live in Indiana but have visited Myrtle Beach since 1997 and have always stopped here to get dinner. Great food but the main problem is catching them open. We went up there four different times and got to eat there one time and had to wait until 5 for them to reopen. I highly recommend trying it but if you want to eat there my suggestion is getting there by 5 because they close by 6 or 7 depending on the day apparently. It's so sad to see this place shortening their hours because many people eat dinner after 6pm. I feel like this is going to be their downfall and it makes me so sad because their food is very yummy. Food is very reasonable on price I've found it's one of the cheapest in Myrtle for good food. Please bring back the...
Read moreDefinitely a bit of a hole-in-the-wall. Food was hot and delicious. I would expect a small wait as your food is prepared. During our wait I could smell the wafting smells of our food being cooked while we sat outside... Pro Tip: any place with delicious wafting food smells is worth a try at least in my opinion.
I read in some reviews that there is a bit of communication/language barrier when ordering. That happened to us (asked for no lettuce on a sandwich, but got lettuce) - Honestly, big whoop. We took it off the lettuce and enjoyed terrific Mediterranean food - especially considering the price.
I'm honestly surprised this place isn't more popular as it's really good, cheap, and fresh - a rare...
