Last night was our first visit here. Our waitress was terrible! She never asked what we wanted to drink and brought us waters. Then she disappeared for 20-30 mins. I figured she was a bartender or had other tables, but she had our table and another beside us. Anywho, she returned to our table to tell us, “so the kitchen is backed up. Like really backed up.” She was about to leave our table after she said that, but I stopped her by saying we’d put our order in now, while we’re waiting for our friends to join us. By the time they arrive the food might not be as long of a wait. So she took our order then took the other of the next table. About 45 minutes our entrees arrived, but not the appetizers. I ask the lady who brought the food to us (who was not our waitress) if she could send back the meal she handed me, because I think I received someone else’s meal by mistake. She assured this was my meal, but I pointed out the items that were not what I asked for. She took it back. About 15 minutes later my husband waves down our waitress to ask for napkins (mind you, we had zero silverware and zero napkins on our table). She grabbed a napkin (yes only one) and speed walks past our table then tosses the napkin on the table. She notices that it flew off the edge then snatches it in the air and slapped it on the table. She was carrying tray with two beer bottles outside and returned to checked on another waiter’s table along with check on the table beside us each multiple times, but never our table. Before my remade entree arrived, my husband pointed out that about 80% of the waitresses attention was on the table next to us with a couple and three kids along with a waiter’s table adjacent to us with a group of guys. However, after our waitress threw the napkin on our table she never checked on us again. Now our appetizers come out. The drunken clams were cold and under cooked, but the pretzel and cheese dip were alright. The lady brought out my remade entree which was identical to the first entree, oh boy. My husband caught the attention of the waiter/bartender who was at the adjacent table with the group of guys our waitress tended to and asked him “a weird question” ha. He asked for silverware and the waiter returned promptly with silverware and smiled and said that’s not a weird question. Then I handed him my remade entree and asked for the manager. Within a minute the manager arrived and listened attentively to our concerns. I thanked him for listening and didn’t ask for any compensation. He looked really irate about the experience we had and maintained his composure very well. He offered us a round of drinks, which we declined despite us not being offered by our waitress to order drinks earlier. Another minute or two passes and the waiter/bartender came to our table to offer us a round of drinks. As pleasant of an experience he was trying to offer, we were ready to leave. A few minutes later the manager returned to let us know that we didn’t own anything and we’re good to leave. He assured us that our experience was not indicative of what service they strive to offer and asked if we’re willing to give them a second chance. Last night we stayed longer than our waitress appeared to want us to stay and we’re ready to leave. As harsh as this may seem, if we’re in Myrtle Beach and happen to stop by there again. We’ll choose to eat here if the waitress we had no longer worked here. After we left, we stopped by Buffalo Wild Wings and drank our dinner, because we needed to recover from this experience. Our bartender and her fellow waitresses asked how our day was going, and we shared what happened here to see from a different perspective what we did or say to make our waitress treat us so poorly. They said that sometimes waitresses pick and choose who they want to serve. I hoped this wasn’t the case with us, but we’re great tippers and the waitress here at backyard missed out on a...
Read moreWent here for the 1st time on Wednesday September 3rd 2025 with my mom, aunt and friend. We came here for their happy hour items, which includes 25% off appetizers, and house liquor. Loved the dive type feel to this bar, and they had all the games on television from baseball, football, tennis and more! They also have a deck where one can look at the view of the intercoastal waterway. Very pretty view! There was also a band playing live too! we sat on the outside deck enjoying the view. we did have to wait for a table, but we were in no hurry. After the server cleaned the table, he helped us out. Our server was very nice and pleasant. We all started with waters. I ordered a lime deep eddy vodka with sprite, which was good. Oh, and he made sure to check my ID too. also they have a big selection of food here from appetizers, to wings, to sandwiches, to burgers. We all decided to get appetizers and share them. We got the Southwestern eggrolls, chicken ball, Steak Quasadila, and wings that one can mix and match- carolina gold, and garlic parm. Server did a great job explaining what Carolina Gold was- but in my words it was like a mild sauce with a kick of bbq, and it was very good! I enjoyed the southwestern eggrolls too! tasted fresh and better than chili's version! Steak Quasadila was enjoyable too! Oh and the restroom there is clean, it is located in the front, and it only has 2 stalls so, try not to hold it in and have to pee really bad, because one may have to wait lol. Oh and another thing that is nice about here is that accidentally my friend spilled water, and was fine about it, but the servers (not just ours) gave us extra napkins to clean the water up if we needed, and it's good that everyone pays attention like that! Also, got my water refilled when someone else noticed it was almost empty. wonderful service! Overall enjoyed the appetizers we ordered, and Will to come back to try more...
Read moreMy husband and I visited this establishment on Sunday and were served by Nick, who provided exceptional service. We ordered wings, specifically requesting all flats, and were informed there would be a $1 upcharge, which we accepted. When the wings were initially served with drummettes included, Nick promptly rectified the order to meet our request. Additionally, I enjoyed a shrimp Caesar salad, and my husband had the Philly cheesesteak. Nick was attentive and accommodating throughout our visit.
However, our experience on Friday (5/24/24)was notably different. We ordered the wings with the same request for all flats, but they were again served with drummettes. The female server, whose name was not provided, claimed she had communicated our request to the kitchen. When we reiterated our order, she responded with a dismissive attitude, stating we couldn't order them that way despite our recent successful experience.
We requested to have the wings (which we did not eat) removed from our bill and spoke with the manager. The manager informed us of a "no flat policy" which had not been mentioned previously and conflicted with our Sunday experience. He also mentioned a limit on the number of wings, though we had only ordered twelve. The inconsistent enforcement of policies and the staff's attitude were frustrating and disappointing. As locals who work in the medical field as well as mange businesses this is an establishment that we will not recommend going forward!
We hope this feedback helps improve consistency in service and communication within your...
