The atmosphere was not appealing. I came in, I went to the counter, waitresses walked all around me. No one said I'll be with you one moment. I stood there and I watched a young lady ignore me as she came in front of me and made no remarks to my existence. She went back to the table of guests that came in seconds before me to ensure their comfort. She finally came back to the counter and asked me if I placed an order. She had poor customer service etiquette with me but was super with the others. When I told her I placed a call in, she went in the kitchen and came back out and said they were boxing my order at that moment. She never came back. Another waitress came and asked if I was waiting and I said yes I am waiting for my order. The waitress then asked what was my name and I told her and she went back into the kitchen and told me that what I ordered was not available. That also let me know that the previous waitress did a poor job of making sure that I got what I came for. I will say that that will be my last visit to Joe's grill because it's atmosphere reminded me of shows that discriminated against others at the 'counter'. Poor service and the...
Read moreThe people, employees, and customers were awesome. Very much enjoyed their company. People came in and gathered around the table like family. The sweet potato fries were the best I ever had! My husband is the fan, but I actually enjoyed them, I was surprised. Hamburger was a little dry, but it was hand patted out real hamburger! Spaghetti is the very thin strands, which is just fine. The sauce is made with crumbled hamburger, it is of a mild flavor. The sauce on it was no way enough, when I asked for more sauce, the request was granted gladly and waitress said she thought it needed more, too. Now the sauce was thin and didn't stick to the noodles very well, so the flavor was sorta watered down. It was served with a slice of white bread toast with garlic butter on it, sorta poor folk style, and a very small lettuce, tomato, cucumber salad, for $12.00 that to me is over priced. 5*friendly...
Read moreThere's something about walking into a mom and pop diner. It's the conversation going around the room, the smell of coffee and good food being served and wonderful waitresses who know their customers by their first name. I'm not a local to Darlington but this place sure makes you feel at home. Thank you for your wonderful service and true to life southern hospitality to the "Joe's Grill" staff. Btw the food was...
