I really wanted to like this restaurant. Having been to numerous Easter European restaurants all over the country. I really really wanted to like this place. Ordered 6 dishes and my wife, son and I tried to taste and share. Fries. Over-seasoned. But edible. The Khachapuri Meat and Pomegranate. The meat came out dry and wildly overcooked like beef jerky. Said something to the server. They brought out another. The exact same way. If you pulled the protein off the dish. The cheese and bread were edible. The khinkali (Georgian dumplings) again grossly over-seasoned. The meat inside was also grossly over-seasoned. Unedible. Left it there on the plate. Ordered 2 plates of these. Did not mention it to the server as I don’t believe there was anything they could’ve done to change it considering the jerky we got twice for the khachapuri. As had the Plov. There was so much turmeric and salt, that’s all you tasted. It again was grossly over-seasoned. Order Tolma. We don’t even wait for it to come out. You prepay for the food. Prepay for the tip. And wait for it to be brought out. We didn’t even wait for the plate to come out. So I can’t give an honest review on the Plov. I really hope this was just a really bad day from whoever was cooking. But we will never give it a chance again. Even though Eastern European restaurants are scarce in the area. Not worth the time to attempt it again. And this has nothing to do with price. I wouldn’t go back if the food was free. It was honestly the worst experience I’ve ever had at any restaurant I’ve ever been to, ever. I’m so sorry. To leave this review. But I wished someone was honest before we went. We would have enjoyed Long John Silvers more than this catastrophe of a meal.
Edit: I just received my cc statement. They also charged me for the remake of the khachapuri with the jerky for beef twice. We don’t have a single bite of the remake because the meat was...
Read moreKeipi recently caught my attention, and my experience there was a blend of highs and lows, leading to an overall rating of 4 stars.
Starting with the positives, the food at Keipi deserves a solid 4-star rating. Each dish served was a testament to the quality and freshness of the ingredients used. The flavors were well-balanced, and the presentation of the food was visually appealing. It's clear that the kitchen staff are skilled and passionate about their craft, as each dish was prepared with great care and attention to detail.
The atmosphere of Keipi also contributed positively to the overall experience, meriting another 4 stars. The restaurant is situated in a cool and vibrant area, adding an exciting backdrop to the dining experience. The interior of Keipi is thoughtfully designed, creating a comfortable and inviting ambiance that complements the culinary offerings.
However, the service was where Keipi fell short, deserving only 2 stars in this aspect. The most significant issue was the long wait time for food – nearly 45 minutes, which is quite extensive for any dining establishment. Furthermore, the food was served in about 15-minute increments, resulting in an awkward dining experience where one person would receive their meal and potentially finish it before the next person even received theirs. This staggered service disrupts the flow of a group dining experience and can lead to frustration among diners.
In conclusion, while the food at Keipi is undoubtedly excellent and the location and atmosphere are both appealing, the service aspect significantly detracts from the overall experience. If the service were to improve, particularly in terms of wait times and synchronization of meal service, Keipi could easily be a top-rated dining destination. For now, it's a place with great potential, ideal for those who value superb food and are willing to navigate the challenges...
Read moreI made a reservation for 8 people at the 6 pm community dinner. I read that all cocktails and wine and multiple courses dinner were included for the price. Part of the experience was being led through the meal by a professional toast master. Well...words do NOT do Keipi justice. The entire vibe was warm and positive. I booked the dinner for 8 people as a surprise party for my husband's birthday. We arrived at 520 pm for the 6 pm reservation with the thought of having a cocktail or two before dinner. I offered my credit card to start a tab but he was kind enough to say no you're here for 6 pm and all drinks are included. We had fantastic cocktails outside awaiting our time to sit. Now...I knew that this was a multi course dinner with wine and toasts. But...this night was SOOOO much more! Fun, interactive with everyone at our table, our toast master Evan was spectacular. Our glasses were always filled for the next toast and there were many, made by the toastmaster Evan but also by people at our table moved to do so. In addition, the multi course dinner was INCREDIBLE. It started out with salads. An arugula beet salad and cucumber tomato salad started us off. Followed by cheese platters of several types. Cheese stuffed mushrooms. Too many choices to remember!! Followed by beautiful bread and chicken and beef stews. Followed by kachipari breads with various toppings. Followed by beef and pork braised to perfection. We had a beautiful layer cake with vanilla ice cream. This is a nonprofit restaurant that does incredible work. I cannot speak highly enough about the food, the service and warm, welcoming atmosphere. A unique fantastic family place...
