Mountain Goat on Shaw Street is an absolute gem in our community and a fantastic spot to settle in for a productive work session. From the moment you walk in, the vibe is welcoming and conducive to getting things done. There's a palpable sense of warmth, and finding a comfortable spot to open up a laptop is easy.
But Mountain Goat is so much more than just a great workspace. It's a coffee shop with a huge heart. Knowing that 100% of their profits go towards supporting Great Outdoor Adventure Trips (GOAT), an incredible organization that provides life-changing outdoor experiences and mentorship for under-resourced youth in Greenville, makes every sip and bite even more satisfying. It's truly inspiring to see a local business so deeply committed to giving back to the community in such a meaningful way.
And let's talk about the offerings â the coffee is consistently excellent! They serve locally roasted Methodical Coffee, and you can taste the quality and care in every cup. Whether you're an espresso aficionado or a latte lover, they've got you covered.
The real showstoppers, though, might just be their authentic Liège waffles. These aren't your average breakfast waffles; they are a delightful experience. Made from a dough rather than a batter and featuring pearl sugar that caramelizes on the outside, they have a perfectly crisp exterior and a wonderfully soft, chewy interior. They are made fresh and are an absolute must-try â a perfect treat to fuel your workday or simply to enjoy.
Overall, Mountain Goat is a standout. It's a place where you can be productive, enjoy delicious, high-quality coffee and waffles, and feel good knowing your purchase directly supports a wonderful cause right here in Greenville....
Read moreWe love this place! My wife and I have been amazed by the delicious coffees we have had there. It's more like having a coffee experience to us! It has become our favorite go-to when we want to truly indulge our taste buds. My personal recommendation is The Lumberjack latte. It's not always on the menu, but you can still order it. It's lightly sweetened with pure maple syrup and topped with a sprinkling of some very special smoked salt of some kind. It's incredible!!! I want to thank the very helpful manager who was like a skilled guide in selecting the right taste bud experience for me after asking me a few questions. She nailed it! And my wife got the Blackbird latte on her recommendation which was also amazing. I've included photos of both #1 Lumberjack, #2 Blackbird, and then #3 Strawberry Fields latte was another one we tried and liked.
And that's just three of their unique latte creations. They also serve incredible specialty waffles. Yes. Waffles! I have yet to have a waffle or coffee I didn't love. The ambience is bright and cheery, and the service has always been top-notch. This place is a gem. If you haven't had the Mountain Goat experience, then I highly recommend them for your next taste...
Read moreI personally donât often take the time to post a review, not proud just fact. My adult daughter and I were visiting Greenville recently for a long weekend and this coffee shop, cafe, meeting space needs 5 stars plus. The menu is a perfect size, not too limited, not to broad you canât make a decision. My seasonal latte was perfect, taste and temperature. Tried my daughters and felt the same with hers. My biggest reason for my review though is the waffle we purchased. I myself am not a waffle person. My daughter ordered the special pumpkin seasonal waffle because she discerned from reviews waffles are a mountain goat staple. I was not going to even try a bite as she nicely cut the waffle in half to share. She said, you HAVE to have ONE bite. To please my daughter I did. OH MY God, I had to shut my eyes and mindfully experience the flavors and consistency and outer crunch vs chewy center all at the same time. I immediately claimed the half she offered and mindfully enjoyed every bite. Mountain Goat is worthy of your time esthetically, financially, socially and flavorfully. Who would think a 58 year old could surprisingly become overly fond of waffles? Everyone needs to try at...
