If you are looking for a great place to get latin style BBQ this is it. This is a locally owned and family operated business that takes great pride in it's offerings. Definitely start with the Empenada appetizer, you will be happy that you did, they are incredible. The BBQ is delicious too. They slow roast their meats over natural wood lump charcoal for starters and use an unsweetened very mild hot sauce based BBQ sauce. The flavor is amazing and refreshing. It is a change of pace from the typical brown sugar or honey glazed sugary meat The dinners are served with a flavorful latin rice and some of the best crinkle cut fries you will ever get! I would come here just for the best fries in town. I ordered the chicken and it was tender and juicy all the way through. I had a sample of beef spare ribs that my wife ordered and was surprised how tender they were in comparison to most beef spare ribs I have had in the past. I will likely order them myself the next time I am here. Rosa and her family are very friendly and accomodating they didn't hesitate or mind explaining items on the menu. You can see the kitchen area from the front counter and you can see for yourself just how spotlessly clean they keep it. You will be getting good healthy food prepared by genuinely nice people in a clean environment. The only drawback I can see is for Rosa and her family, the dining room will be entirely too small to accomodate the crowds that they are...
Read moreFirst things first. I do have to admit that we were going to go to another BBQ joint on the way down from the mountains. But i missed the turn. So i quickly looked up something else and this was my first pick. Y'all let me tell you! I'm glad i missed the turn. This was possibly the best bbq I've had in awhile. Not only was it delicious, it was so filling. My husband and i did a platter with Half chicken & half beef. With yellow rice and yuca fries! I didn't even know what a yuca was but it was delicious!!!
The staff were really nice and patient as we figured out what we wanted, also suggested different types of drinks that are freshly made so we tried them, a pineapple juice and a limeade. Both delicious. I do believe it's family owned, or i could be wrong.
Regardless it was all delicious. Very home cooked meal feeling and having extras to eat later on in the evening was just as good. I do recommend this spot. I wish I lived closer but i live 3hrs away. ☹️ I will return though. Thats a guarantee. 🙂🙂✌️
Update-Moved up to Greenville,SC and had y'all again on Saturday(Sep 24th). Just as good as the first time. Love the atmosphere, the people and the vibe. The food was still delicious and macaroni salad was poppin'. Yuca fries are still amazing and...
Read moreFirst let me say that the food is excellent and the staff is friendly. So why would I only give three stars? Well my husband and I ordered the family meal that comes with two sides. We ordered the yellow rice and the vegetables stir fry. I noticed that the bill seemed a bit high, so I looked at my receipt and noticed that we were charged for the vegetables stir fry. I asked the staff about the charge and was told that the vegetables stir fry was extra. However, we were not told of the extra charge at the time of ordering and we didn’t pay extra, we paid full price as if we ordered an additional side. I thought maybe they would double the amount of yellow rice to make up for the side because the meal comes with two sides but that was not the case either. Like I said before the food was delicious but buyers should beware that certain sides may incur an additional cost and you will not be...
