My wife and I were in the Florence area and decided to have breakfast at Shoneys. This is the only one anywhere near our home. The parking lot was full so we expected a crowd. Although they were very busy we were seated very quickly. The breakfast buffet turned out to be quite delicious. The bacon was crispy and all other items appeared fresh and the staff maintained the bar very well. I had pancakes and French toast sticks along with scrambled eggs. We found the fruit to be fresh and very tasty. The young lady who waited on our table was nice and friendly and checked on our progress frequently. In most instances I frown on giving low ratings unless they are truly earned. The reason I rated the atmosphere so low was after entering the front door we noticed right away that there was one group seated near by that was terribly loud and rude. Obviously they were travelers and had no respect for other patrons. Their conversations were overwhelmingly loud and disrespectful considering there was children nearby. I understand that’s not Shoneys fault but someone should have approached the group and asked for consideration of other customers. I almost did it myself but I didn’t think it was appropriate. We will return in the future I just hope that we don’t encounter another group like this one. Thanks Shoneys for a delicious breakfast. Shame on those that feel like they can act like idiots anywhere they want to.

We recently visited Shoney’s and decided to try their breakfast buffet, and it was an enjoyable experience overall. I sampled the scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, French toast, and smoked sausage. While the food was great, it wasn’t exactly how I remembered it from my childhood visits, but it still hit the spot. My wife went for the biscuits and gravy, pancakes, bacon, and grits, and she thoroughly enjoyed her meal as well. The variety on the buffet is impressive, offering something for everyone. The service was excellent—our server was friendly and attentive, making sure our drinks were refilled and that we had everything we needed. The atmosphere added a nostalgic touch to our visit, bringing back fond memories of dining at Shoney’s as a kid. Overall, I gave them 4 stars. While the food wasn’t exactly as I remembered it, the flavors were still good, the service was great, and the nostalgic atmosphere made it worth the visit. Shoney’s is still a solid choice for a classic breakfast experience!

I stopped in this Shoneys to meet someone a week or so ago and we had lunch. The food was surprisingly good considering this place is never slammed. Case in point, it's Sunday lunch now. The Thunderbird across the street has a line out the door. I just walk in here and sit down! Staff is super friendly. A supervisor did openly rebuke 3 sou chefs at the food bar with customers listening. Mind you that should have been done in private. However, the servers are nice and my tea has stayed filled. Just curious, does anyone know why this place is never crowded?

I brought my daughter out for a treat but was not aware that on a Thursday evening there would be breakfast buffet. I am new to the south and this restaurant was reccommended as a good place to eat. The ice in my soda had a sea food taste that was quite unappealing and the time it took for my meal to arrive after ordering from the menu because of my lack of desire for breakfast I did however eat some salad that was unsatisfactory but Filled me to the point I was unable to eat my meal. So I asked for it to go...when leaving, I placed my togo food on the counter to pay, sent my daughter to leave a tip on the table and paid for my meal. When I left I realized I left my food and called the next day to ask if I could have it replaced. The service rep that answered confirmed I left my food and got the manager on the phone to address the matter. I was told she had no authority and would need to speak with the GM the following morning. When Theresa called me she told me "It was not there fault that I left my food behind and why should they have to replace it...?" I simply stated how frustrated I was with my experience, why I had a full course meal and this would be the reason I am asking for my food because I Never Got To eat it....! It was partially there fault I left my food because I was distracted wit anger over not being satisfied with my dinning choice in addition to having to wait for a personal conversation between a cashier and a customer before I could finally leave. There were several moments during my dinning experience that I wanted to walk out but my 11yr old daughter seemed to like the place so I stayed, against my better judgement. I myself manage a popular fast food chain and would never speak to a paying customer in that way. To keep a customer I would do my best satisfy one to ensure they return and bring family and friends...I will never eat at another Shoneys again! I would not reccommend it to anyone and I will mention this experience anytime I hear conversation of this establishment. I didnt ask for my money just my meal replaced and feel that was not an obscene request and the GM Theresa should have handled this...

Drove for more than an hour at the urging of one of my nephews just for breakfast. So you understand, this is the nephew with whom I have gone to every single buffet near home . We go out to grub still every once in a while. Now for my commentary. Lovely experience all the way around. Please excuse me for noticing things that others may ignore. Employees here seem invested or even interested in doing well or even excellent. Noticed someone peek out from the kitchen. Were they checking up on their soul mate or seeing how things going in dining room? I like to believe the latter. Well behaved guests and attentive staff. Now to dig into a recent request from a restaurant owner. He asked for a break on the negative reviews. Not going to happen and how dare they ask. As easy as it is to do wrong employers should find people who are capable of doing the job with some sort of crisis resolution skills. When people pay for a service they expect to be treated well. Waiting forever or getting wrong order is not what is wanted in exchange for hard earned moolah. So give the consumer a break. Now back to Shoneys. On our way out we had short conversation with a young lady about a bear. As a result of that conversation my nephew and I have decided to go back. When we do we want to buy two bears, take one home and let that young lady give one to someone deserving. Should something be said about the food? If you believe so you should start at beginning and read the whole experience all over again. Slow down around the part that says going back. Now let's think. Do people go back for good or yucky?...
