Had gone to a Sonic many years ago and the remembrance was that the burgers were fairly good but rather small, the milkshake was not very flavorful, and it was not worth the cost which was more than other fast food places at that time. However, being a bit hungry, we thought we'd give it another try and found it was better than expected. Got a cheeseburger and chocolate shake; my fiancé got a 3 piece chicken fingers and sweet tea. The cheeseburger was a good size; the burger itself was thicker than what I've had at Burger King, MacDonald's or Wendy's. The roll was very fresh and soft. Unlike some places where there's more roll than pattie, the roll and pattie were perfectly matched. Flavor was just OK. I thought it was a little on the bland side, but I tend to like my food well seasoned. The milkshake was pretty good. It was very thick and not overly sweet like at some fast food establishments. The chicken fingers my fiancé got was a surprisingly good size portion. They were hot, crispy and the chicken inside was moist. Again, we both thought it was a little bland and could use some salt. He asked for barbecue as his dipping sauce as this is his favorite flavor. Unfortunately for him it had a more ketchup-like flavor than barbecue. To sum it up, Sonic seems to have improved on the food portion sizes and the flavor of their milkshakes. The cost appears to be equitable to other fast food places. We got there the order taker for one wasent speaking clearly and it was super hard for my father to hear.
