Waffle House — Restaurant in South Carolina

Our waitress took our order then sat down with the other waitress and talked. The place was dirty, tables were filled with dirty dishes. Our table had not been wiped down. We witnessed a young lady move dishes from one table to the next. Place a wet rag on the cleared table and leave and sit down. The waffle station was covered in batter every waffle maker had batter drippings off of them. There was bread in the floor with butter on it the waitress picked up the bread but failed to clean up the butter.The waitress spent the whole time we were there talking to the other waitress. She never came back to check on us or to bring us our food. The cook waited on us that is why I gave him the tip. I left the waitress $1 for taking our order we even had to go get our check from the waitress at the register. Now this may sound far fetched to you we checked out at 5:57 a.m.. we stop at waffle house a lot this was the worst service and nastiest Waffle House we have gone to. Besides all of that we were the only two customers in the place. My mother wanted to leave but I was hungry I thought surely they would clean up. Boy was I wrong the two waitresses never got up to do anything they just sat and talked. Go on down the road there is another Waffle House...

This location is usually a pretty reliable spot to pick up some grub that's not too pricey. This visit though, they seemed a bit off of their game and overwhelmed by the number of peeps coming thru. It was after midnight and they were swamped. Nevertheless, Michelle took my order and gave it to the line cooks. It appears one of the line cooks was a little sore about something that went on before I got there. He turned to a customer next to me and told him he didn't need that job. Well, he might be right because he burned both my wife and I's hash browns and I had an extra order of bacon on the side which I did not get but I clearly heard Michelle repeating the order correctly. My wife was bummed about the hash browns being burnt and also because they just stuck a slice of American cheese in top of the potatoes without even mixing it in. Mine as well. I don't know if it's just a moment out of time but I hope the next visit will yield...
