Very bad experience. First time here driving through. Ordered 4 milkshakes that never came.First attempt to go up and inquire about them resulted in a polite " we'll get to them". More time went by and we we're finally through with our meal, bso I went back up and told the girl we we're now done eating and I wanted the milkshakes now. She not so nicely informed me that other people had come in after us. I told her it was up to them to take care of our FULL order before taking another order. In all this time waiting for the shakes, they probably took 6-7 orders. That is unacceptable. Also, when I told her our order should come before anyone's else's, she didn't offer any polite response, only that she would get to it when she could. I went and sat back down while telling her I would be posting this so the boss/owner could see it. Then we made an attempt to just get money back for shakes but had to stand in line for that. While in line, my daughter heard the employee talking to her boss about the situation. I guess she was trying to save herself and probably lie. Of all the things that sometimes go wrong in restaurants, this was a first. Thinking you can eventually finish up an order for the first customer is not good business practice.! You need to call a meeting with your staff. And any other version reported to you would be an outright lie. I was always polite until the final request. That would be 3 requests in all for...
Read moreJake's Wayback Burgers is nearly identical to Five Guys Burgers & Fries, which is a great complement. The burgers are pretty big, and (like Five Guys) you can pick and choose exactly what condiments and toppings you want. The menu isn't organized quite as well as Five Guys, but it's still rather easy to find what you want. Combos include either fries and onion rings and a drink or milkshake. The price is very decent, again in the range of Five Guys. Value for the quality of food is great. The burgers are great, not quite as good as Ike's Korner Grille (if you're local) but really good. Onion rings are crispy, but with a soft center. The fries are pretty standard, but not bad at all. The milkshake menu isn't quite as expansive as Cookout, but there are a good number of options and the Black & White as well as the Strawberry Banana milkshakes are of fantastic consistency and flavor (and served in tin cups, at that). Decor is very 50's burger joint style. Such a theme has become a bit more common than I'd like, but Jake's Wayback pulls it off well. All the workers were really nice, and our order was out in only marginally more time than your standard fast food wait. Overall, I thought the experience was really good and I plan on...
Read moreOh man, has this place been a lifesaver. When my wife was diagnosed with Gestational Diabetes while pregnant, we thought, ''oh no, there goes all 'Fun' food". However, after one afternoon of shopping and frustration, we discovered the Cheeesy Burger only had about 25g of carbs.
Buttery, grilled bun, with savory, greasy ground beef and All-American cheese slices? Heaven. Pure, crave-satisfying, non-blood sugar-spiking Heaven. It's become a bit of a weekly tradition for us to get one for lunch while doing groceries and just enjoy the deliciousness. In all seriousness, the food here has been outstanding and something we've been glad to discover at a slightly cheaper price than most of the Spartanburg area burger joints. The app makes ordering convenient, and I can't say too much about the service being that we've never eaten inside, but the burgers are GOLD.
UPDATE David, thank you for the reply! We'd love to come in soon too, but have not been able to as our baby girl came 3 weeks early!! We can't wait to share something we enjoy with her as well once...
