For a fast-food restaurant, their salads are excellent
There is a genuine basis for all these accurate complaints about service & cleanliness - it will surprise you, so keep reading...
This particular Zaxbys is corporate-owned & not a franchise, therefore management does not make any of the rules for this store
Management must adhere to a corporate-mandated employee work schedule, (total no. of work hours allowed per day) based upon an actuary calculation
In reality, this poorly-designed employee work hour mandate, based upon sales dollars instead of common sense, works out to an insufficient no.of employee hours per day, resulting in not enough staff to handle the work load
Not enough employees results in sloppy store appearance, very rushed cooking, very slow service, very irritated customers, and extremely stressed staff - customer lines are frequently out the door at this location
All employees expect to WORK at a job, but no employee ever expects hours of relentless stress every day, (due solely here to Corporate not allowing management to schedule enough work hours), and Stress is not part of their job description, and we all know stress destroys human health
Corporate needs to figure in the factors of stress they are forcing upon their employees, they need to factor in the customer resentment so plainly obvious in these poor reviews, and they need to factor in the high management turnover Then they need to factor in their own greed
They are breaking the law by contributing detrimentally to the health of their employees- it is sickening to see how lust for money transmutes to callous & inhumane behavior in human animals
There will be class action lawsuits in the not-too-far future about this exact type of inhumane, unethical and illegal treatment of employees; there are already attorneys who are gathering masses of documentation on just this exact type of ill-treatment of employees in the work-place
These poor reviews & complaints are all from locals, and you complainers should be forwarding them to Corporate, who is doing a very poor job in determining how many employee hours this particular store is allowed to have -
So listen to these complaints, Corporate, hours allowed at this store are FAR TOO INSUFFICIENT and WILL result in negative repercussions for your business - so fire your actuary & use some Common Sense
Area manager is NOT doing his job here - he HAS seen how understaffed this store is forced to operate on and does nothing to address this problem
Kudos to the management and the staff, who do the best they can under such unnecessary...
Read moreThe food we received wasn't terrible by any means. But I cant exactly say it was what we ordered. The establishment itself was just dirty. I don't believe there was a single clean table. They were out of coke in the soda machine. And they had no napkins in the dispensers.
Ok, so right off the bat we ordered the new club sandwich. They were out of the filets to make them. So we chose something else. Not a huge deal, but enough to be annoying.
We get to the soda machine and everything "Coke" is grayed/blacked out (note: Diet Coke was fine). And if you wanted Regular coke, you had to go back up to the counter and ask for it. I even heard another patron ask if they were going to refill the coke and the question was ignored, and the associate offered to get them one from behind the counter.
Now the cleanliness. Dirty is the only word I can think of. The tables, the floors, the soda machine, the bathroom. I felt it all need a good cleaning. There was dirt/crumbs/liquid everywhere. The bathroom smelled heavily of urine, like someone...missed...badly. The trash cans were overfilled and needed emptied. It just felt .. dirty.. after leaving the establishment.
This all being said, I really think they were short staffed and had minimal resources available to solve any of the issues I witnessed. The food we did get was on par for Zaxby's (really good fast food). So I was overall pleased with my visit. But I cannot say the same for my wife, who couldn't look past the...
Read moreWe've heard and read and have seen so many commercials for Zaxby's up north and looked forward to trying this place out. Perhaps we should have waited for a different one? After walking in, we legitimately smelled, what could only be described as, chicken coop. The wife had to do a Google search to see if they had some kind of "spray" to make it smell like, I kid you not, a chicken coop. After cracking loads of jokes about our dinner being prepared "fresh" ad infinitum, we waited in a decent line until we ordered. One of the most impressive things that we always love to see (and the reason this is four stars, not three) is when a company helps out others, like disabled or "different" people. The nicest and very advanced cashier, one with Down Syndrome, was absolutely quick and accurate. It took a few times to listen to what they were asking, but mostly because the clanging noises from the kitchen made it difficult. Fabulous worker!! We each ordered something unique from the menu, including fingers and sandwiches. We were saddened to learn that it was nothing as special as we thought it would be. But the chicken coop smell was distracting the whole time. The fries were just okay. Just wasn't a pleasant experience for all of us. We hope to visit other locations and wish for them...
