. Just kind of chillin out on a Saturday. Don't feel like cooking and don't want my beautiful bride to cook...don't feel like going out to sit somewhere. Who wants to put on shoes if you don't have to, right? Hey, I know, let me go get a bucket of Chicken from Kentucky Fried Chicken here in Walterboro, SC. Off I go. I get there at the drive thru, order my $20 fill up bucket that comes with 8 pieces of crunchy Extra Crispy Chicken, 4 biscuits, taters and gravy, & coleslaw. I get to the window to pay... Out of Biscuits! Bummer, cause I love me some KFC biscuits. "What other side would you like, sir?" OK, Potato wedges. At least they will be good heated up for breakfast on Sunday. So, I pay for my order and then I am asked to pull up and wait. So I do. I pull up. And I wait…And I wait… 17 MINUTES. Yeah, I know, SEVENTEEN. Finally, my order comes and I head home So, I get home and start putting food on a paper plate for my wife, like the awesome provider I am. Guess what? There was no Chicken. NO CHICKEN!!! My Chicken meal from Kentucky Fried CHICKEN had no CHICKEN. So, back to KFC I go. I call them on the way to explain that I am on the way back to get the chicken they had forgotten to give me. Just a quick note that the phone rang 15 times before someone answered. I found out when I had returned home that my wife had also called to give them the heads up. Maybe that’s why it took so long to answer, as she can be long-winded at times. ( insert the pot and the kettle reference here ) So, I drive the ten minutes back to KFC. So, anyway, I drive the 10 minutes to KFC, I park and pop inside. (You wouldn’t know this if I hadn’t shared it, but I first spelled the word “pop” I mistakenly used two o’s. I decided to change it so you wouldn’t confuse what I did with what I essentially wanted to do.) So, I “pop” inside the KFC and approach the counter with my receipt in hand. I explained to the young man behind the counter why I was there. Then I had to explain it to another person…. Seriously, you weren’t waiting for me to come in so you could make it right? Or does it happen so often that it has become a matter of course for the day? “ Oh, here comes another guy that wants the chicken he already paid for 37 minutes ago and didn’t get.” So, I finally get my bucket of Chicken and I am heading home to what I assume will be cold mashed taters and gravy and warm coleslaw. Well, At least the biscuits will still be the same …..UNAVAILABLE!! As I am driving home with my chicken that I soon will discover is Original Recipe and not Extra Crispy, my mind starts reeling again. You know what, I just got a less than enthusiastic, and a way less that half-hearted “Sorry ‘bout that” when I was leaving. I don’t know what I was expecting, actually. Maybe a shift manager to greet me and sincerely apologize for my inconvenience. How about a couple of cookies just to say we’re sorry and we hope to see you again? I don’t know, maybe a side of mac N cheese? No, a sincere apology would have done it. Didn’t get it. Still want it…Won’t get it. “Sorry bout that” is almost the equivalent of “I don’t get paid enough to care about you or your life…Next!” Hey, then again, Maybe it’s just me. Maybe I need to get another hobby instead of food. I did just buy an ant farm. I don’t know where I’m gonna find...
Read moreIt's pouring rain so KFC drive thru seemed to be the right choice. I roll my window down at the speaker and the drive thru attendant stated "the drive thru register isn't working so you'll have to come inside".I confirmed once again that the drive thru register wasn't working but all the other registers were working at the inside counter?.?. She replied that I was correct, I would have to come inside to order. I pull around next to the drive thru window, which was covered from the rain, and observed the drive thru attendant wearing a Bluetooth headseat, walking around behind the counter. I don't know why she refused to take my order when her headset clearly reached the other registers. I was lucky to find a parking spot by the front door and joined the other disgruntled customers who were also wet. I placed my order and didn't ask or say anything any further with the workers. The man in front of me had ordered an 8 piece chicken bucket and a sweet tea. One of the workers announced his 8 piece was ready and set it in front of him without saying a word. He stood there several more minutes and said, excuse me, I didn't receive my iced tea. A worker set an empty cup in front of him and walked away. He said, "I guess I have to make my own tea after standing here all this time soaking wet". He went around the corner to get his tea but the dispenser was empty and set his cup on the counter. The drive thru lady had already made him a tea and set it on the counter. The other lady slid the empty cup by his full cup of tea and said, "You can throw the empty cup away". He ignored her while grabbing his tea and leaving. She then said, " I told him to throw the cup away"! I just stood there in disbelief of what I had experienced. Next time I'll go next...
Read moreI was visiting family ( I live in Columbia) in Walterboro and we wanted KFC for lunch... We went inside and it looked like no one knew how to clean the tables... There were tables with food that people left and the other tables were dirty with trash on them. We waited to order on the kiosk machine which half way worked( took twenty minutes to order the food) The people behind the counter were so rude and nasty with the customers..I can understand being understaffed and people not wanting to work cause it happens where I work but The attitude of these employees were to much .. They acted like we were a burden to them and when a customer was complaining about something(we counted 7 different times this happened) the manager and the staff was like what do you want us to do about it..The bathroom was filthy and had looked like someone peed on the floor and the toilet was full of crap and the thrash can was over flowing... We waited for 47 minutes to get our food and had to send half of it back because they didn't fix it right and the chicken was hard like it had been there for a week.. I will never eat at a KFC again and I will make sure my family doesn't either.. This was a truly horrible experience...I will go somewhere else and pay more money to get better service....I will be calling corporate today and letting them know how bad this...
