Let me preface this review by saying that I really want to like this place! We are semi-regular customers. I enjoy the food and the waitresses are usually quite friendly and efficient, as they were today. I thought it was a tad weird today when I walked in at 12:15 to a completely empty restaurant, except for two guys finishing up their meal. I sat at the counter like I always do when I'm solo. I was waited on quickly and because I was starving I ordered right away. Classic breakfast : 2 eggs over easy, bacon, hash browns , and toast. Pretty simple. Waitress put order in and then I waited....and waited...and waited. For 20 minutes the younger guy cooking cooked bacon on the grill. At least 20 lbs. of bacon. He even cleaned the grill after 10 pounds! Not once did he turn around and look at the slip. Did i mention no one was in the place? Finally the waitress said something to him. He started the hash browns and thru on 2 eggs (over easy eggs?) Then, a waitress asked him if he wanted to take a break before the other guy left. He says "sure" and proceeds to explain my order to the other guy. Confusion ensues, so I remind him those eggs are supposed to be over easy. So he plates the eggs and throws on the hash browns. My exasperated waitress reminds him that I ordered bacon. I say... "never mind, I'm starving, just give it to me". He proceeds to throw the bacon into the fryer, then throws it on the grill and plates it. The waitress has to remind him about the toast. Seriously. So....30 minutes after ordering I got my cold, hard eggs and very greasy bacon. Hash browns were great. Toast came 5 minutes later. Still no one in the restaurant when I left at 1pm. I wonder...

We came from Daytona Diner and even just walking in you could tell the difference.
Our server [Whose name I wish I remembered. She was a brunette with her hair in a ponytail braid and a cute bow tied at the top] was so sweet and amazing. She made wonderful suggestions, was all smiles, and constantly checking on us.
I had the Mexican omelette, my boyfriend had the Santa Fe omelette. They both were homemade quality good. The cook was making everything there fresh and it was still fast. Unlike most places with eggs, everything was seasoned perfectly. The hash browns with the omelettes were just the right level of crispy and biscuits tasted amazing and were clearly homemade. They also had a slight crispiness to them, which I think is because they put them on the griddle for a minute, which somehow made them a million times better!
We also mulled over and shared a strawberries and nutella waffle. Our amazing server suggested sharing one. She cut it in half and plated them separate for us. She also suggested putting it in later so we could have it as a dessert of sorts and even stopped by in the middle to ask if we wanted it put in yet. She was seriously the highlight of an already amazing experience. She deserves a 5 star salary.
You will not regret going. If you're in tow as a tourist ignore all the tourist geared spots and go here instead. Best omelettes I've ever had and hometown...
Read moreWe waited over an hour for food, which is fine if someone apologized and our food was hot. I can understand a few mess ups, hey and even more if you can say sorry. Not only we waited that long our waitress never came by and told us how much longer it would be or even didn't apologize for the wait.
When we got our food no sorry, or anything. Before that we were never checked on other than ordering food. All of our food was cold. We tried to talk to someone waited for someone to come back over let them know what was going on another female waitress came over and was extremely rude as well as the other waitress. She just said we are short staff well what do you want me to do about it very aggressively with no options other than remaking food, which we surely didn't want to wait there any longer. We ended up just leaving without eating.
We weren't offered anything to compensate or an apology from both waitresses. Other than them offering to make us wait longer, which was not happening. We are very patient people I was apologizing about this situation when it wasn't even my fault but yet those two waitress couldn't and were very rude. Worst experience at a restraint I've ever had. The young man who is the manager seemed nicer and he did apologize. If he could get nice waitress in there and didn't serve cold food this place would be alot better, even if its...
