Scooter's Coffee — Restaurant in South Daytona

I went to the new Scooter’s Coffee in Daytona Beach today around 5:00 PM. I ordered a sugar-free cold brew with cream.

I paid, left, took one sip… and busted a U-turn so fast I hit 5.5 RPMs. It tasted like straight sugar water.

I went back through the drive-thru and apologized, telling them, “I’m so sorry, but this doesn’t taste like coffee—it tastes like sugar water.” The barista was kind and said, “No problem, we can make you another drink, stronger—like a latte.” I accepted and thanked them.

They remade it. I took a sip… Lord help me—it was the exact same. So they said, “Let me try again, half sweet.” At this point, I’m holding up the whole line and starting to feel mortified.

Third coffee comes out—“half sweet.” I took one sip and literally said, “Oh my God.” It was somehow even sweeter. I told them, “I don’t want it. I just spent $7 and you’ve spent 10 minutes making these drinks—I’m sorry, but I can’t drink it.” It honestly tasted like water mixed with artificial sweetener.

Trying to make it right, they kindly offered me an energy drink instead. But at that point, I was too scared to even try it. I left almost in tears. I told the lady, “Thank you for trying to help, but I won’t be back.”

Now I’m at Take 5 getting an oil change, and when I told them the story, they were laughing so hard they handed me a bottle of water. And let me tell you—that water never...

I have been twice since the soft opening and I can’t stop going! The menu, customer service, unique experience, and the quality of their items is all above and beyond. Today specifically I was really happy about my experience. I chatted with the barista at the drive thru as I was ordering, asking her which flavor she liked better, Oreo or Chips Ahoy, she said Chips Ahoy so that’s what I decided to go with (No Whip). However they made the Oreo one by mistake, probably hearing us chat about it, no biggie at all, but I was totally willing to just take that because I did want to try them both eventually. But before I could even explain that I was still happy with the Oreo, she assured me they are going to make the chips ahoy one for me and let me have both at no extra charge! They were both SO delicious, but the customer service above all, was what really makes this place worth going to, vs any other coffee chain. I’m happy to have one in our town and excited to see...

I've been drinking Scooters Coffee for over 20 years. That may make be biased but I say it makes me an expert! Scooters Coffee in South Daytona is not only the best coffee in the area, but they are by far the most friendly. They serve delicious coffee with smiles and great attitudes, day after day. I've tried a variety of their coffees, blended, iced and hot. My favorite is the caramelicious blended. Not a coffee fan, but still need a pick me up? They do serve other drinks, too, and although I'm not much of a red bull girl, my husband is and he loves the Red Bull infusions. His favorite is the Apocalypse. We've been to this location multiple times a week since they've opened, at a variety of times during the day and the consistency between the drinks and service has always been superior, regardless of the flow of traffic.
