Carnitas 3 Hermanos — Restaurant in South Elgin

I am very disappointed in today’s service. I waited 45 minutes for two pounds of carnitas. I asked if they had patitas and they told me no. I specifically asked for them not to cut up the carnitas and it was even printed on my receipt. I saw the cook cutting up the carnitas in the back. When the guy that was running the orders out I asked him if they were cut and he told me yes. I told him “I don’t want them cut up.”He said that they were ok if they were cut. I said no I don’t want them cut. He took the carnitas back and gave me my correct order but when I got home the carnitas were cold and had lots of fat. I really wanted to give this place a chance cause their food was good and hot the first week they opened, but now everyone is running around like chickens with their heads cut off, all because of lack of management. Well in the surrounding area lots of competition in the mexican food business We have tried alot of them . Unfortunately not impressed.. Pros...close to home Green sauce in the bottle was very good Horchata was good n decent price Cons...over priced , for quality and quantity. Steak tacos , meat was dry Rice very dry apparently not enough turn over and it must be sitting under a light Sour cream on the side was crazy small ( see pics) Limes thrown in the beans.( see pics) Enchiladas were tangy, The sauce was different. Beans were literally whipped like baby food. Still using beef villa trays etc everything is still beef villa colors and seats so the atmosphere was very weird. I really dont care but its a review question so. For a Family of 4 , not everyone was able to get a side of rice n beans, alacart is the way they go ( see menu pic) bill was over $61 bucks. I had big hopes for this place. I was excited and hoping it would have very good food and atmosphere. What a let down both were. The food was absolutely terrible. Ordered the nachos and there was just old tasting all grizzle/chewy meat with just a small amount of lettuce and shredded cheese. How are those nachos.. Not to mention the chips tasted old as well. The chicken tinga tacos were terrible as well. The chicken was overcooked and the rice was very bland and refried beans not much better. No one came over and asked how are dinner was.. Odd that you go up and order your food and then sit down and wait for your dinner. It's pretty bad when I can make taco's 20 times better at my home. Beware the food...
