Parking lot completely EMPTY at lunchtime, had to check to see if the doors were unlocked. Nobody in lobby, nobody in drive thru? I go inside and stood by the counter, the "employee" said I needed to use the kiosk because they were busy.. remind you not another soul in site?? 100% laziness and wanted me to do his job that he gets paid for. Surprised he didn't ask me to mop the floor also. Tried to give them my business, they made something that used to be very easy difficult and time consuming now. I then asked if I should just go through the drive-thru, employee said sure. If they want the lobby closed, then they should close it without playing games. Anyhow, walked out without ordering and went next door to Jimmy John's and had good lunch over there and they took my order properly like every respectable customer caring business should.

We've had the same mixed experience here that others have. Often closed during regular hours with a sign that they are short-staffed. Sometimes dining room is closed; must use drive-thru even during the day. Often short on inventory. On a recent trip, they had no forks available even behind the counter. Had to use a spoon on our cheesy potatoes. On another recent trip, two of the beverage lines on the self-serve dispenser were marked out-of-stock. That said, our food has been prepared accurately and with generous ingredients most of the time. We use the self-serve ordering kiosk because it shows items you might not know about otherwise. And you may choose for it to only display vegetarian items. That's how we learned about the yummy Power Menu Bowl that comes with black beans!

They usually run out of items like Mexican Pizza, lines are slow, and they SEVERELY short you on meat in the tacos. Its ridiculous. I dont like eating a taco consisting of 95% cheese and lettuce. EDIT: Go to the McClean location earlier in the day, later in the day it is not run very well anymore. No competence from the kid who works at night. Your actually better off going to the St. Charles location, especially if its past 3PM.

First off, google still shows them having later drive-thru hours. This is incorrect. There is a posting on the window at the location that shows their drive-thru hours are the same as their regular hours, the drive-thru closes at 9pm, not 12am each day. Being turned away at 9:05pm on the drive home from class was quite a surprise.

A few times I have received wrong orders, or orders that took more than 15 minutes to prepare (which is ridiculous for "fast-food" let alone taco-bell, there's like 7 ingredients in the entire kitchen). This location attempts to rectify this by giving you a couple "1 Free plain taco" coupons -- make sure you look twice, there's a 50% chance the coupon has already expired.

Today was a special day, 1 car ahead of me placed an outrageously large order (after spending 15 minutes ordering it), we spend 10 minutes at the window, the food is finally handed to the car and I thought, "finally." To my dismay the guy handed everything back, 2 large mountain dews and 2 large bags of food. Another 5 minutes pass before 2 new mountain dews (that look identical to the ones handed back) are handed out to the driver, the car behind me pulls off, and after grudgingly spending 30 minutes in line, I decided to follow.

This location used to be key for late night eats, I would always be waiting in a long lines (however moving quickly) between 10pm and 1am, confusing me as to why they've cut those hours back to 9pm. Overall, whenever I went to this location in previous years, the service was quick and the food was great.

Did this location recently undergo a change in management (for the worse) or ownership (who appears to not care about the people that frequent their location) What ever happened to "the...

Note to the OWNER: Based on the reviews, it's clear you have enough money and not enough interest that if this Taco Bell restaurant goes out of business, you don't care. Just like a lot of the reviews, we stopped by there for dinner, went inside to order and nobody was at the front counter. Assuming a lack of employees, we waited…. and waited. Another person came in behind us and we all waited. No one in the back said anything such as ‘Be right with you’, only silence. We called out if anyone was taking care of the front counter but again we were met with silence. The person that came in behind us finally left. We called out again, waited, nothing… then we also decided this was time to leave. This review is addressed to the OWNER because in my opinion there is no excuse for this. This is not the fault of your employees, it’s the lack of training you’ve given them. It is your fault this place is going downhill. It is up to you to be there and train your employees the proper ways to handle situations like this. If you do not have enough employees then you need to step up and be there to help them when they need it. Not everything is order online and drive thru. Customer relations is still alive and you need to realize that. Get in there and help your employees get higher ratings and bring back the customer service that should be there. If you really don’t care about customer relations or this restaurant then PLEASE, shut it down and stop...

I am currently in shock after the way I was treated at this Taco Bell location. After placing a online order I showed up and was forced to go inside by a rude employee. I then go inside to get my order and am yelled at to go fill up my own drink again by the same lady. Once I got my order I noticed stuff was missing from my order and she proceeded to tell me it was. When I told her she was incorrect she began to once again scream at me calling me names and making a big deal out of her mistake. The other employees also decided to get involved and pointed at me laughing. No customer deserves to be treated disrespectfully, especially when the mistake was made by the restaurant. It is disappointing that Taco Bell would stoop to such a low level of customer service. This kind of behavior shows a lack of respect for customers and their business, and it is something that should not slide. So Taco Bell South Elgin… no matter how many employees you have, that’s no excuse for this behavior. I hope your manager does something about this and finds better employees to represent the business. I will not be returning to this location after this terrible experience I had being treated so poorly. Do better!!! (This review should be...
