Ā Ā Ā Read moreYou know there's really nothing cool about Best Buy. It's an old-school outdated store. Shopping there is very boring the customer service is good, nice employees for sure. But they carry average to okay products. I'm in the Audio Visual industry and people always have something to say about Best Buy. It's mostly negative - "always" it's a boring store, doesn't really make you want to buy anything or check anything out. Not interested to look anything in the store. Its the kind of store you go to after you've done all your research online, checked out reviews on products online. Most Importantly watch YouTube video reviews and actual use on the item you are interested in, to see and confirm if its worth your hard earned money. What's funny is people always - - - always bring up ABT Electronics because it's a fun store lots of cool stuff to look at touch, electronics to play with on demo/display and of course there's more stores within the store lol. It really makes you want to buy more items or seek an upgrade. Best Buy is like, hmm, let's see their prices and compare to other stores and if cheaper buy it online for a quick pick up and run versus ABT, where you'll just want to hang out there get your vehicle some new gadgets, maybe you need a home upgrade, water heater, AC, furnace or just chill. ABT is the spot. Best Buy is just that store that's there - for quick pick up, that's about it. I wish they would update/upgrade the store making it more entertaining in demoing cool products, the store needs LIFE a New Design. So many stores have gone out of business because they do nothing to capture customers' interest or appetite to want to come in and seek new toys for home, car etc. MicroCenter was another store about to go away but they WOKE UP and have come a long way and I love shopping there plenty of products for PC building, gaming rigs to demo, play and test while shopping and much much more.... Heck Microcenter wet my appetite and I built a $4,000 gaming rig with a 14900k, 4090 GPU duel 2k monitors etc. I find myself as well as my co-workers and neighbors enjoying ABT & Microcenter. Best Buy is a simple peek at the prices but these other store will match or beat them on pricing to keep the business. I donāt think thereās more than 10 total brain cells at this place. Complete lack of customer service. My boyfriend had a Geek Squad protection plan for his phone. His phone broke, and he had to pay $250 for them to send him a new one. After having the new phone for about 3 weeks, it randomly shut off and no one was able to turn it back on even through a hard reset. He took it to this location expecting them to exchange the phone considering they sent him a phone that was clearly defective. He was told they didnāt have appointments and would need to reschedule one for 2 days later. He came to that appointment and waited 20 minutes to be checked in and was then told they donāt have diagnostic tools for Samsung so they need to schedule him at the Geneva location. Why didnāt they do that to begin with the first time he came when they knew it was a Samsung?! They brought the manager over who then said thereās nothing they can do because itās out of the geek squad protection plan (even though it has only been 3 weeks since he last paid for the protection plan which covers for 30 days. If they werenāt so incompetent theyād be able to research that and figure it out). He ended up going to the Geneva location and they were SO MUCH BETTER!!! The manager and employee guaranteed that he would be receiving a new phone. They have gone above and beyond to get this issue figured out. Iām pretty sure we also heard another customer next to us complaining that their tv had fallen off the mount that Best Buy had just installed the day before. It sounded like the manager was giving them issues as well and not wanting to replace anything. Fast forward a couple of days when I went to pick up an online order at this location. I attempted to do curbside pickup and my time was estimated at 8 minutes. I waited 15 minutes and there were 3 other cars who had been there longer than me. I finally went inside of the store and there were barely any customers in there. I stood in line for about 10 minutes (no one was in front of me) while the employees were running around like headless chickens. Finally someone helped me and I mentioned I did curbside pickup and no one came and there are 3 other cars waiting. He apologized and said apparently no employee had been doing curbside pickup and they were trying to figure it out. If you want actual customer service, never go to this location. Go to Geneva...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis goes out to the South Elgin branch and this was the worst freaking experience i ever had and who ever reads this needs to do something about this cause i will never freaking shop here again!!!! My order was to pick up of two 32" tv's that i can pick up and just go home pick up my kids. I show up to online pick up counter and the order wasn't ready and they will have someone bring it them out. About 20 mins go by and no one said anything until i waited again in line and ask them about my order. There like here and they only had one of the two tvs on my order,so i ask them where's the other tv and they said they don't have anymore even thou my order said will be able to be picked up and be ready that day. The one thing was why didnt no one tell me about my order wasn't complete and i had to wait 20 mins to find out. Well now i dont know what to do cause i had plans for the other one and i had to pick my kids up at a 5pm (which was 5 when they told me about my order). So the guy behind the counter insisted on me on canceling my order and go find another tv somewhere else. I told the guy why dont you help me try to find something similar they had in stock. I had to go on my phone to find a tv that they had instock before he can find anything. Then he told me just go back to tv section to find another tv and someone will help u when you get there. He said he was getting someone to meet me over there.....get over there and no one in sight to help so now im very upset. i looked at tvs for a bout 15 mins and found the same tv but next size bigger (39"but cost $60 more) and brought it back to online service desk. The guy that was helping me started processing my order and now i been there for 45 mins or so. The store manager all of sudden walk behind the counter and the employee ask him to take of this and his comment was that he was to busy and dont have time for it and walks off. Well i came in for just 2 tvs and only be there maybe 5 mins but instead i leave with one item correct and another item i had to pay 70 more dollars and now hour late to picking up my kids.
