As complete tourists, we stopped by here after seeing a recommendation online. Drinks were great! I’m not into beer but the woman who served us let me try a couple before we ordered and my husband had a couple of different drinks that he really enjoyed. The ‘Mexican’ food truck was open and we ordered loaded fries (can’t remember what they were called). They were good, we asked for them extra crispy and they could’ve been more crunchy but were super tasty nonetheless.
The one thing that let this place down was the kids running riot. You walk in and see a big board saying ‘this is not a playground etc….’ but there were kids running round everywhere, climbing the fences and jumping off of tables. Whilst this is not the bars responsibility, it felt more like the outside of a Wacky Warehouse rather than a drinking establishment. It’s a tricky one, as parents should watch their own kids but we felt because it was outside, people just didn’t care. If you’re going to put up bold signs, the behaviour needs to be monitored.
If we were to go again, we’d go later when there are likely to be fewer children. It’s a great spot with games and tons of outdoor seating, definitely worth stopping in if you’re in South Lake Tahoe! Drinks and food were...
Read moreThe mix between beautiful lake Tahoe and what they have done with the place has created a great atmosphere to enjoy a beer and food. The beer selection is great, lots of variations for beer lovers like myself. I would be able to come here more if there were more non beer options for my wife.
I wouldn't say they are not kid friendly, but I wouldn't say kid friendly either. More kid tolerant with tight boundaries. The "tongue in cheek" signs are annoying for a parent of well behaved kids. I'm completely understanding of having an adult only area (I know some kids who would throw the Cornhole bag into the highway as a game). Also not having the grass area be a playground is understandable. But could there be a kid corner and less sarcastic signs? I think that is reasonable and would make the claim of kid friendly more believable. The Eddy in Reno has successfully achieved this balance of a bar or taproom and a place parents can not...
Read moreEverything about this place rocks if you're into craft beer! They had an awesome amount of taps to choose from ranging from DIPAs to sours to German lagers, and the beertender was very nice in letting me try a handful before deciding. The atmosphere is supreme. Seriously, even the bathrooms are ridiculously well decorated! I loved all the lighting and the artwork. And, even if you're not into that kind of thing, it makes a difference to visit a place where there is clearly pride taken in the business.
Plus, who DOESN'T love to drink in a warm igloo in the snow?!
I'm sure the sprawling outdoor space is amazing in warmer months, but there was plenty of seating between the inside area and the three outdoor igloos for the January visit we had. And we will definitely be back before...
