Coffee Dose — Restaurant in South Mesa

If you’re looking for a cute place to grab coffee or a small bite solo or with your girlfriends this is the place for you! I’ve been a couple of times now, once during the week and the other on a weekend. During the weekend this place is pretty busy - but if you do want to eat in and don’t have a large group you can skip the long take out line, and order at the bar!

The staff is super knowledgeable of their menu and accommodating if you want to make any customizations to your order.

I ordered a traditional macchiato with oat milk and a splash of their seasonal mojito syrup - it was so tasty! After enjoying my drink, I stayed to order their hass if avo toast. The avo toast topped with their fire sauce was so good, i’m glad I extended my order to round out my Sunday morning.

A few things to note: If you are looking to do any work here on your computer, be prepared to provide your own hotspot, and your own power source. There is no complimentary wifi nor power outlets. Also, it’s pretty noisy, so bring your noise cancelling headphones or enjoy the sounds of a bustling cafe. There is a 90 min limit per tables. I stayed for longer, so I think they only enforce that if it’s especially busy, or if you’re taking advantage of the area. Additionally, if you are looking for plant based options, you will be limited. However, you can’t go wrong with avo toast. They sometimes have vegan donuts up at the front!

For this place having gone viral multiple times, the vibe was just not there. 1st, it’s inside a salon, making it incredibly awkward to walk into when people are getting serviced feet away from you AND it makes it so cluttered and way too many people in the tight space. 2nd, the customer service is absolute trash here. I get the whole aesthetic is “anti-b!tch” but the workers were opposite of that. Weren’t really helpful at all, looked at me like i was stupid when i ordered, and just overall were not friendly. My friend and I both ordered a version of peach tea, they looked exactly the same and we asked which one is which and the girl goes “that ones the peach”… my friend and i looked at each other confused because we both ordered a type of peach tea. She looked at us like we were idiots and finally said that one had the peach jelly in it. 3rd, the drinks were fine but definitely not worth the $5+ price tag.
