El Corazón Casita was a real treat. The food was good, prices are fair, the establishment is well maintained. You can't beat $10.95 burritos (any burrito) on "Burrito Thursday" while the deal lasts! When you make a meal purchase and sit in-house, a round of chips and salsa are included with your meal. They also offer homemade white or red sangria for those looking to spice up their lunch or dinner.
On top of the great food experience, words cannot fully appreciate the owner, Joe. Joe was a welcoming person from the moment we walked in. Joe was quick to his feet and ready with excellent manners from years of experience as a restauranteur and food truck vendor. Joe was not shy to share experiences that have made his food and story worth sharing.
Bug Light House is just around the corner, so pay a visit to it, enjoy the memorial to Portland WWII ship builders that were key to the war effort, and stop by for some great food and drink. Street parking is always free, and you're sure to enjoy El Corazón Casita. PS: choose lengua as your protein. They serve both cabeza and lengua, which is not always an available protein in...
Read moreI like the food. What I don't like is that they put the take-out orders on a table out in the open like you can just grab your food when it's ready, but then every time you try to grab it some girl sprints out (like you've just stolen a museum's most prized display) and short of breath confirms that you are the person the food is meant for. This has happened to me every time I pick up food here. I asked a friend if she had this happen, and she confirmed that she also has some girl clearly wildly paranoid that you are stealing the food. So why do you bother leaving the food out for customers to grab? Just to then clearly think everyone who goes in to grab their order is a thief? And all she manages to do is just read the name and ask if it's you. Yeah, if I was stealing, I wouldn't be able to lie? The whole...
Read moreThis was my third strike out here unfortunately. Salsa was good...chips were so stale I instinctively reacted by spitting it into a napkin. When my husband told the cashier he got a "oh sorry". Like they knew and served them anyway. The queso fundido con chorizo was a gelatinous glob of cheese SWIMMING in a deep pool of grease. Soft tortillas were good. I brought the queso to the counter and asked the cashier if this was how it was supposed to look...as I'm swirling the grease around the flimsy tin. He asked the female cook who said yes and looked quite proud of that inedible mess. Another "sorry you didn't like it." No offer of another dish nor a refund. $9.99 down the drain. Told him to toss it. How can this location be so consistently disappointing when the one in Portland is excellent???? We give up and...
