Stollen - Bakery Pick Up - $49
A German Christmas bread, our stollen is a very special treat. Naturally leavened, loaded with goodness: fresh-milled organic ME wheat and spelt// local milk, butter, and eggs// dried tart cherries and currants// dried organic ME peaches// candied organic citrus// candied organic ME ginger and turmeric// toasted organic almonds// ME peach noyaux rum // festive spices// house-made maple sugar marzipan// dunked in clarified butter and rolled in organic ME maple sugar. And that's not all! This year our stollen arrives swaddled in a beautiful custom made White Bark Workwear hemp reusable bread wrap. This holiday delight ages beautifully, and will continue to build flavor over the month (if it lasts that long in your house). Very Happy Holidays from NMB xoxo

We tried their pizza which is only available on Fridays from 4-8pm. It was so flavorful and a great chew. Very different than any other pizza dough we’ve had, kind of like the difference between a sandwich made with fresh bread vs Wonder Bread. We had one pepperoni to try as a baseline and the Taj Indian pizza for fun. My husband wanted more spice on the Taj but it was great for my spice sensitive buds. Pizza was ready at exactly the time we chose on the preorder form on their website (preordered Wednesday night). The employees were friendly and organized with all the other people picking up pizzas. We’ve had their bread, brownie, and chocolate chip cookies before. Bread is fantastic but the brownie and cookie had a bit too much pizzazz with whatever grains and chocolate they use, a gritty and dry bitterness is the only way I can describe it and obviously everyone else loves them since they sell out. We’ll definitely be coming back again sometime for the bread and pizza!

I am always excited to visit Night Moves on my visits to Maine; it's a must stop for their sourdough country loaf which is an amazingly tasty, hardy bread with a great crunchy crust and soft inside. This bread makes the best strata ever and great for toast or sandwiches. Their seeded bird bread is also great for toast or sandwiches. There brownies are the best I have ever tasted with a rich chocolately texture and taste. The shop is quite small and is very busy so service can seem a bit rushed, but their breads are worth it!

As a sourdough baker, I can say Night Moves knows the moves to produce exceptional loaves—and pastries! Their ingredients are of the highest quality and their methods are true artisanal craftsmanship, using slow fermentation true to the tradition. The bird bread is especially tasty, loaded with seeds and freshly milled whole grain spelt flour. Check their schedule for the rotating menu of flavors.

I've been a fan of Night Moves for years, since they set up shop in Biddeford. Now that they're open to the public again albeit in a more distant location, I'm thrilled to patronize the business once more!

Excellent breads, goodies, service, and prices. The freshest, most satisfying bread you've ever had can be found here. Their peasant loaves evoke the old world and hearth baking of prior generations.

Though that's good enough to merit the 30 minute drive, they carry many other unstoppable items. Brownies that have gooey-cakey down to a science, cookies with a mouthwatering sprinkle of flakey sea salt and rich dark chocolate, and so much more.

Try them,...

So, the bread here is fantastic. Sesame spelt - 10/10. The pastries are lacking in flavor though. The gingerbread is presented beautifully but there is only a hint of ginger, and it had a rather gummy texture.

The bakery itself is very small, but cute.

The one thing that really disappointed me was the service. It was as if the joy and life of person at the counter completely left them as my partner and I approached. It could have just been a bad day though, because judging from other reviews, it would appear that the retail employees are quite pleasant.

That bread...
