We just tried Ruby Thai for the first time. We've just had a 24-hour travel, so did not sit in but ordered takeout. At the restaurant, it was right on time, exact right order, reasonable price, and the service was pleasant. The daughter started with Matcha Boba Tea. She loves the stuff and goes out with friends to many boba places; there are a few "good ones" and a lot of "bad ones." Ruby Thai is now one of the good ones, and it's walking distance. Yea! We got Fresh Spring Rolls, and they were simple, fresh, crisp and crunchy. Strongly dominated by lettuce and basil and a bit of mint, so if you like that, we recommend. We got the Shrimp Wonton Tom Yum Noodle Soup, and it was incredible. The seafood in the wontons and the broth was actual real seafood and very, very good. I will order this every time if I can. The Soondubu Soft Tofu Soup was also good. We got two different versions of Pad See Eew, and both were outstanding. The mixed seafood was especially impressive with actual real seafood of several different types surprising and delighting the wife. The couple things I would wish for in the future. First, if you like actually spicy food, you need to tell them. I am not a native Mainer, and I eat actual Thai level spicy food, and I think they assume you're a Mainer, so even "spicy" was not really spicy. Next time I will be more specific on that. Second, I would like more vegetables in the delicious dishes which specify veg as a main supporting ingredient. Altogether, an outstanding meal that surprised and delighted on multiple counts. We are looking forward to trying more of the menu in the future; Ruby Thai has earned new loyal...
Read moreI asked ruby thai to make my green curry extremely spicy and to “make me sweat” and they absolutely delivered. A lot of Thai places don’t really turn up the heat to 10 when you ask, and ruby Thai broke the mold.
Curry was delicious, drunken noodles were very solid, one of the best Thai experiences I’ve had. Already missing the curry.
UPDATE* went again 3 weeks later and asked for the same request (extremely spicy) and it was even spicier than last time :D while many Thai restaurants often spice their dishes with dried Thai chili flakes, ruby thai gave me a healthy amount of fresh Birdseye thai chilis in my green curry, adds incredible flavor and spice
4/15/22 - ordered green curry with special instructions “painfully spicy - pretend i am your enemy” and Ruby Thai has outdone themselves, food was insanely spicy and delicious as always. Never change,...
Read moreFirst time being here, and I went with a friend. Atmosphere was pretty cozy, I liked the color choice for the walls. It gave the restaurant warm/friendly vibes. They were able to seat us immediately, as we went at a wierd time [like late lunch very early supper time] so it wasn't busy at all. Our waitress was attentive without over doing it. The food was good, we did end up asking for thai chili flakes to make it a bit spicier. But it was still flavorful without it. Averaged about $25-30 per person.
The only bad thing I will say is that I was disappointed with the Strawberry milk tea. I could tell they used a Strawberry syrup for it and it was a bit too sweet for what I was expecting. Still good, just not what...
