Chinese Chef — Restaurant in South Sioux City

I am writing this review in hopes that the criticism will be used constructively. And because I’ve been going to Chinese Chef for years so I know that this is not just a “one time” situation that sometimes reviews are based on. Chinese Chef used to be one of my favorite places in town. I keep going there occasionally in hopes that maybe this time it will be like it used to be. Unfortunately, it never is. One of my biggest critiques would be the lack of vegetables they put in the fried rice. They used to put several kinds of veggies in their chicken/shrimp fried rice, which was one of the things I loved about it. The fried rice has continually had less and less vegetables for a while now. I comment on it to my husband every time I get it. Tonight I ordered the shrimp fried rice and there was not a single vegetable in it, not even the usual bean sprouts or onions - Onions, perhaps the cheapest vegetable you can add to it. Luckily, they did still add the eggs which were the only saving grace. With that said, there was very little flavor. Next, the egg roll. The egg rolls, for the longest time, were the best I have ever had. I have never had an egg roll as good as the ones Chinese Chef served for so long. Now the egg rolls seem to change every time. Tonight they were nearly burnt and so greasy they literally had beads of grease on the outside when I pulled it out of the package. In contrast, crab rangoons tasted almost stale, like they had been sitting out for quite a while. Additionally, we always order plain lo mein noodles because my daughter loves them. They usually have a light brown sauce. No sauce on noodles tonight. The bright spot tonight was the egg drop soup. It was hot and flavorful. Had plenty of egg and pieces of meat in it. And what do you know, some green onions! Was excited to see a veggie. My husband had the sweet & sour chicken and had no negative comments about that, either. In terms of service, the girl who took my order over the phone was very friendly and made sure to read the order back to me to make sure it was correct. She said it would be ready in 10-15 minutes and she was correct. It was ready when my husband picked it up about 10 minutes later. I have been giving Chinese Chef the benefit of the doubt for a while now, but it never seems to impress me anymore. As I said in the beginning of my review, I mean no harm to Chinese Chef. It has been around for so long and I want it to continue to be successful. However, I think they need to consider making some changes to have...

This is my dad's favorite place to come he loves this place he always gets the shrimp dinner well there was about six of us that went I had General tile my daughter had General tile my son-in-law had beef and broccoli which was absolutely delicious but the General Tao that I had was way different than what I was used to I live in Minneapolis so when I go to my favorite places to eat my Chinese food always get General Tao and it's way different The Taste is sweet and here it was very dull I did not care for it at all but they do have some good foods on the menu I just wasn't used to it they have a sitting area very polite they come to the table or you can take it to go it doesn't matter but my dad really likes his place I gave thim a lower score cuz I didn't think my general tao but they do have other things on the menu that were were delicious for sure place to go you can take the kids I definitely go back with him but I'll get to beef and broccoli...

Usually like coming here The food is normally good But I thought I would leave a review Because I've noticed the few times there's something wrong with my order They make me feel like I'm hassling them and make me feel like it's my fault This last time I ordered a meal fo two which includes 6 crab ragoon the Cream cheese inside was Clearly spoiled tasted awful inedible.
