Amid the coronavirus pandemic, my mother and I decided to try out banana bend since our favorite spot was packed...we entered to see nobody wearing masks which was not unusual since once youâre seated as a customer the mask can come off. We seated ourselves and our waitress approached- no mask. She took our drink order and walked away, entering the kitchen and prep area- no mask. I said to my mom, âwhy isnât she wearing a mask?â Wondering if there were any mandates lifted that we were unaware about. While waiting for our drinks to come to the table and contemplating what to do, two tables got up to leave after finishing their meals- nobody had masks. Not on, not in their hands, not left on the table...there were none in the building whatsoever. I also had a perfect view into the window of the kitchen/prep area...a man came into this area right after our waitress left it to bring our drinks to us. And surprise- no mask. That was two employees and at least 6 customers that did not have masks on...thatâs enough for us! We left as soon as our drinks were sat down on our table. As we were walking out the waitress came out the door after us. Asking if we were leaving and saying that we needed to pay for our drinks...the drinks she breathed on more than we had... we said yes maâam weâre leaving nobody is wearing a mask and weâre not comfortable with that. She yelled back âdonât come backâ I said yes maâam we wonât thank you. I have NEVER left a business after ordering something (even something âsmallâ like a drink) but there was no way we were going back in to do a transaction. Bad on us but worse on this diner for not following state wide health mandates during a deadly PANDEMIC. Very unfortunate some of my loved ones are completely isolated, in a nursing home, or afraid to go out and contract this virus, but a business in the food industry can operate without...
Read moreTotally disappointed. We were treated very rudely. On our way in the restaurant some blonde older lady said you can't bring that dig in here. I said she is a service dog. She said they are not allowed either. I told her it said they were allowed on the sign. I physically had to take her out to look at the sign. Then we came back inside. She wanted to see my card. I showed it to her. She glanced at it and handed it to the waitress. Then she wanted us to sit in the back so other customers would not complain. The only reason we stayed is because I new she wanted us to leave! Talk about discrimination. We have never been treated that badly any place we have went!! My husband's dinner was good. My fish was hot and overcooked! The Mac and cheese was room temperature. The waitress was pleasant and asked if we needed a refill on our coffee. I had the fish fry. It was supposed to be all you can eat. I was never even asked if l wanted more fish. We were quickly given the bill. No dessert offered either. When we left the blonde woman was STILL complaining about...
Read moreUsed to be my go to place, had great service and good, but the last 2 times been there was treated like l had the plague or something. Had to be assertive in getting service, and it was offered up in a mildly curt manner, like ok here's your food now shut up, eat and get out. Only way to get coffee refill was to "grab" them while passing by your table AFTER refilling other cups. Not very friendly. Sad Latest outing, 123123, resulted in great service from a server who obviously knows what good customer service is all about. Problem; missed sign "notifying" patrons that they are now s CASH ONLY business. Sign is posted ABOVE the center of vision of most people, i. e. me and my significant other , included. Was NOT aware of this until checking out. Had insufficient cash, so was inconvenienced by having to make ATM run and a RETURN trip to pay bill. LAST TIME Banana Curve, sorry. Have tried it again and things are better. Believe had same server as before, and she was again attentive to the needs of her tables. Food was still above average....
