Reese’s Hideaway — Restaurant in Town of Barton

Saturday morning breakfast with my family. We had tried eating here after they reopened and were underwhelmed but decided to give it another shot. Greated promptly. Drinks were quick. Ordered a chicken fajita breakfast quesadilla however it came out as an omelet without toast. Waitress/owner said she would fix the order by taking it back and putting the omelet inside a tortilla. We had already waited quite a while and I didn't want a repurposed meal so I agreed to eat the omelet as it was. She offered toast and I accepted. Never got the toast. Later husband went up to ask about toast bc they never returned to check on us. I was brought ice cold toast with hard butter. It was clearly toasted 20 minutes before when I was offered it. Time to pay and husband went up. He reported food was good. My omelet was good! Homefries could have been better. Toast was inedible. Waitress mentioned that she didn't put a chocolate milk on the bill. My husband JOKINGLY said well maybe since you brought us the wrong meal you could not charge us for the milk. Owner chimed in and said that we declined the changing of the meal. Husband stated we didn't want to wait for a whole new meal. She stated that it would have taken one minute as she would chop it up and put it in a tortilla. It turned out that I came out of the restroom to her screaming across the bar at my husband. Could my husband have just about faced and left without incident, yes... allowing them to continue crappy restaurant practices... But her behavior as a business owner was deplorable. We will not...

Attempted to have breakfast here. Sat down, watched 2 tables empty and another be seated. 2-3 tables around us got service and our table was overlooked. Table seated after us got service. After 5+ minutes which when busy we understand, a waitress walked by grabbed used coffee carafe off the table and mumbled something that we heard as I'll be right back with your coffee. I pointed out we hadn't been waited on. The waitress turned around and said, "I'm getting a cloth to wipe your table if you don't mind." Granted, the customer is not always right but to speak to a customer with an attitude, nope. Service was OK. The food however was another issue. Was ok as long as being hot was not important. Was mediocre at best. Sadly not as good as past experiences. Hopefully better next time. 27Aug24, the "next" time. New review is worse then one above. Stopped in for lunch with better half. We both had the meatloaf with fries. Meatloaf had decent flavor but the texture of heated canned dog food. Have had hit and mess situations over the time since their reopening. Better half says: never again. 9Nov - LAST trip.
