AMY'S DOCKSIDE BAR AND GRILL — Restaurant in South Williamsport

For a new restaurant for us on our date night that happens maybe 2-3 times a year. We had high hopes for Amy's dockside. Started off walking through the door....2 pool tables..... Really? There was one table in the entire restaurant that you wouldn't get hit with a pool stick for starters .... AND a punching machine really? Are we at an arcade? Secondly seemed like some of the crowd members were over served. An that set the atmosphere for just loud an obnoxious. Definitely NOT a kid friendly place. Now let's get down to the food. Everything was hot and served quickly so they got that figured out. I ordered the steak fries for an appetizer very good should be served with the spicy mayo tho. For our entree's I got a shrimp poboy....this is like eating a dry bowl of captain crunch my mouth is so cut up from the rock hard deepfried shrimp. Like here's a little tip get some fresh shrimp dice them mix a little spicy mayo with the diced shrimp an serve it that way it was just awful would NOT recommend. My wife ordered the overboard burger. Ordered medium...came out just a hair under well. Then forgot to add the Mac & Cheese to the burger had to bring that out on the side. This place is new, so I want to say it feels a whole lot better than the previous ownership. I got the fish and chips. The fish was a bit cold and the breading was a bit soggy. This tells me they cooked it, and it sat a bit before being served. The fries were hot and crispy. The fish breading, coleslaw, and tartar sauce also lacked flavor (maybe add some garlic). This is the reason it is 4 stars instead of 5. The beer batter needs work. Maybe ask the Bullfrog how they make theirs because it's one thing they get right. My wife had a burger and it was great according to her. Like I said, this place has a good feeling, though we were a bit confused about how and where to sit to get service, so we sat at the bar even though there were open tables by the windows. I think it was the owner that came to us with menus as we had sat there a few minutes...

We recently rented out the upstairs area for my sister’s 30th birthday. The rental space alone is so perfect! It’s so cute, we didn’t even need decorations! Also, it is so spacious! There’s even a little lounge area that has a projector and they were able to cast the football game for all the men! There is also an independent touch tunes upstairs so you can play whatever music you like, instead of listening to what’s played downstairs! The view of the river is so nice and peaceful!
