Empire Buffet — Restaurant in Southbridge

I was hoping for a good meal at this place again after being happy from a previous visit about 2 years ago. The food was okay, not as good as I recall. It's fresh food but the sauces are "sus" in my book, not homemade but rather from a bottle or jar. Meh, nothing special about that. If, like me, you're looking for good soy chicken wings, they are not to be found here. Instead, they offer giant steroid-fed chicken wings that are deep fried, as if you're in the deep South. Tough and chewy, I had to reject one and half out of 2. Oh boy, there I go wasting food! I agree with another reviewer about the off-putting attitude of the owners, workers, management in this place. They act as though everyone who eats there is out to screw them. I can understand the signs on the buffet that shriek at me, "Don't waste food!" However, the hostile attitudes of the workers made me realize that I will never visit this place again. I suggest you all avoid the joint as well. Keep on keepin' on! It was quiet and the staff was nice. Tje food was very good. I like the variety they have. I brought a 2 year old and they had high chairs. They can accommodate a big group easily. There was a family of about 20 that came in and they quickly took their orders for drinks and any other accommodations needed since there were ages baby to elder. So a lot of different ages.

Even still they never ran out of food and everything was always full. The women's bathroom waa very clean and there was a changing table for babies. The silverware, plates and cups were all very clean. No stains, leftover food particles or any of that sort. Tables were also clean and the floor was also clean (no food or pieces of paper feom the straws or napkins.) It's a very clean place which I love. Chinese restaurants are tough to review, because everyone has different tastes. Chinese Buffets are even harder - so much can go wrong. I had seen the reviews for Empire Buffet and took a chance on it. When I drove up there were a bunch of cars - always a good sign. Stepping inside, the place was clean and bright, nicely decorated, quiet. A pleasant place to eat a meal. After being waited on quickly it was time to hit the buffet.
