Sonny’s Asian Grinders & More — Restaurant in Southbury

I can rate as a FAIR the food wasn’t good but wasn’t bad either. Plenty parking , we arrive 5:00 pm said Hi no answer. The food can be great but staff make whole experience bad , food took like 35 min. We told the guy bring everything together include appetizer , he did the opposite.

Appetizer pork egg rolls (4) My husband ordered bbq Korean and cheese grinder, me hibachi shrimp salad, kid chicken tenders and fries. Egg rolls small size less than my fingers $7 . Grinder was ok husband like it , wasn’t great but good . My salad was ok shrimp taste ok. Look like fresh salad . Sauces taste bad $52.00 include ice tea and 2 Thai ice tea.

Husband get grinder first , so me and my kid wait 20-25 min after for get our food.

Love the food at this place and would typically stop by at lunch but stopped in for a quick dinner on a Wednesday night and told an hour wait for food due to the volume of take out orders they had. There was only one other customer in the restaurant. The place took so many takeout orders the kitchen crew could not keep up and could not provide food to stay in customers under an hour ticket time.

Absolutely ridiculous of a restaurant to tell a stay in customer in person they had to wait an hour. This isn’t a big restaurant. It’s a quick sandwich place. If they want to become a takeout only place then take out the tables and don’t offer stay in service.

It’s terrible but this will be my last time there after being a regular. I can’t take the chance that I hit a peak takeout time and have to go find a second choice for a meal.

Definitely 5 stars! Today I checked out Sonny's Asian Grinders & More in Southbury, in the plaza across from Shop Rite/ Home Goods on Main St. South. I got the Korean BBQ Pork Noodle Salad. Grilled marinated pork, rice noodles, mixed greens, avocado, cucumber, cilantro, pickled carrots, & onions with wasabi yuzu dressing. Everything was fresh and done to perfection. I often don't eat out because my stomach gets upset if high quality ingredients aren't used. I'm happy to report that all day I felt great.
