Southfield Fish & Chicken — Restaurant in Southfield

NEW UPDATE My husband and I looked at each other pulling up and thought they were closed, because no one was inside. That was not the norm for this place it usually be people lined up inside. We ordered the perch dinner three piece for me four piece for him. What used to come with the meal is now an option coleslaw or fries you used to get the coleslaw with it also post pandemic. Same great people and atmosphere. The same guy from our first time going still works there he remembered us and spoke we hadn't seen him in a minute. We got our food and as always when we got out to our truck opened it up for french fry one piece of fish while driving home. That's where the problem begins of course shrinkflation is real! The pieces of perch were very small and the fries and my container was half(about a handful)of what was in my husband's container(full serving). My husband been into it and said something ain't right it don't taste the same and I agreed. Purchase usually a pretty needy fish they must have changed where they get their fish from because it was super thin it was more breading than fish and it didn't taste the same. We started to go back up there and return it or at least call and explain to them that something just wasn't right any longer. We were tired and didn't wanna make the drive back up there.

Well apparently their kool-aid is on point so they can mix Kool aid and sugar without any issues. We had a large order with 2 large Trays of wings, half regular, 1/4 bbq and 1/4 Spicey. I have to give credit that the wings were very good. We ordered a large cauliflower bites, fried mushrooms, fried zucchini, hush puppies and a large catfish bites. We are feeding about 20 people we also ordered Mac n cheese and spaghetti. Those two items came out of the ice box, COLD COLD COLD, who serves that??? Cold. So 20 people we got 2, yes 2 ranches, 2 hot sauces, 4 packets of bbq sauce, we did get about 8 tarter sauces and that was it..... What???? Wow!!! The gentleman who ordered called the restaurant and got the cold shoulder , not once did he offer an apology or anything of that nature, didn't say it was their policy..... He just was not interested. If this is the kind of establishment you would frequent, by all means please do, my advice is to BYPASS THIS PLACE BY ALL MEANS. That is unless you really need a glass of Kool aid that, like my review, ...

I stopped here for lunch the first time last Friday. When I walked in, the place looked for a back of better term run down and outdated — not a lot of places to eat there inside. And the barstool next to the counter was very uncomfortable and kept sliding forward. I ended up moving to the table and now saying that. I was greeted with a smile, and a warm welcome from the young lady was taking my order. I ordered up the Codfish and Chips with french fries with a side of hushpuppies. The hushpuppies were delicious, and the fish was pretty good as well. I will have to come back and try more stuff. The food here...
