I am so grateful for earning my nursing degree and the opportunities that are now available… however, I wouldn’t recommend this program to anyone. Even after finishing this program in it’s entirety, the faculty is so unorganized and honestly rude. Though I do feel I have the education to be a competent nurse, I do not hail that credit to Madonna, but rather myself and ATI (which you pay 500 dollars per semester for) all of my learning and encouragement came from myself and my sought out help…. Not to mention, requirements and grading was different every single semester making it hard to find a constant when going through such a difficult program. I seldom felt support or encouragement and do not feel that this program produced the nurses it states, my confidence has been killed. Also my bank account, as they claimed this program would cost 40k in its entirety m, which ended up looking more like 60k on top of books, scrubs, shoes, and extra classes required only at Madonna (religion) which they do not disclose to you upon admission. They haven’t even helped me with anything post graduation, after emails calls and every effort for help. I could write a book from my experience these past two years but, I will leave this for those who may be like me and wanting to start a fulfilling nursing career, please do...
Read moreAnyone who is trying to decide which curriculum they want to attend should consider the accelerated program at Madonna University. The 16-month program is practical and goes by quite quickly. I'm presently enrolled in my third semester of this program, and I can categorically state that it has challenged me and made me understand that I am much more capable than I had previously believed. It is initially overwhelming, but with the instructors' help, it becomes much more tolerable for us. Numerous teachers and employees go above and beyond to make sure you understand and are always willing to ask questions. In terms of structure, there have been periodic difficulties in the previous semester, but now that there is a new director, she is truly making significant adjustments for this program. She genuinely cares about the students and makes sure we receive the education we pay for. Her goal is to ensure the student will pass the Nclex. The clinicals are very excellent and very instructive; I have had positive clinical encounters. Anyone who chooses to begin this program will receive the fresh updates developed to improve...
Read moreAlthough a little unorganized at times, Madonna’s ABSN program has challenged me beyond what I thought I was capable of. They have a great way of guiding you toward independence and pushing you to your limits. Yes, it’s an accelerated program, with a rigorous course load and can be difficult and frustrating at times, but so is any program. I have only had 2 instances where clinical instructors we’re not great, but as this program is only 4 years old- there are still some things in “trial and error.” Other than that, my clinical placements have been educational, beneficial, and have helped me build a surmount of confidence I will take with me when I graduate. There have been a lot administration and policy of changes during my time, but again, it’s expected with a “newer” program. With this program- you get out of it what you put in. The new changes I believe will make this program better and more educational than ever before, and if you’re looking for a program that will challenge you and make you the best nurse YOU want to be, Madonna...
