Galindo's A Taste of Mexico — Restaurant in Southgate

I first discovered Galindo’s through their food truck where I ordered the birria tacos with the birria sauce — and let me tell you, it was love at first bite! The flavor, the juiciness, the quality… everything was on point. I was so impressed, I came back the very next day with my son and had been bragging about them ever since!

When the food truck hadn’t been local for a while, I didn’t hesitate to take the drive to their nearest restaurant location — a little over 20 miles from my home — and I have zero regrets. The recipe stayed true, and the food did NOT disappoint. Still just as flavorful, juicy, and absolutely delicious.

The service was top-tier too. The owner/manager personally checked in on us and provided superb service that went above and beyond. He even recommended their other location that serves alcoholic beverages — now that definitely caught my interest, and I’ll definitely be visiting soon!

To top it all off, their prices are fair and reasonable for the quality you get. I’ve purchased from Galindo’s three separate times now, and each time, they’ve nailed it. Consistency, flavor, service — they’ve got it all.

I was very disappointed tonight with my whole experience. I called and was greeted with a very monotone and annoyed voice from a female worker. She asked the simple questions and I specifically asked for no beans and no jalapeños on my nachos like i do every time. I had a few things to order and every time i added something else she sounded more annoyed to be taking my order. When my father went and picked up the food he said the girl working the counter looked like she didn’t want to be there and was supper short and sounded annoyed. I have never had a problem before with service or food and was shocked to have gotten this type of service from here. When my father got home, the quesadilla’s were soggy and looked thrown together ( and they are usually amazing ). My nachos also had beans on them which made me only able to eat the parts without beans because I can’t eat certain textures ( i got to eat 1/3 of my food ). Went into this place and got a taco dinner plain with cheese , OFCOURSE received the tacos regular with cilantro onion and no cheese lol called up their spoke to someone who said j could get another order another day because I didn’t have a ride back , so I go back today and I told them who I spoke to to redeem the tacos and I guess they had to call a different restaurant to contact the person to see if what I was saying was legit . So I order the replacement meal , then added some extra things for my family and again the food was wrong , there was no management on staff and the young lady seemed to be new so I didn’t want cause her any stress , maybe this is just a bad 2 in a row my very first two times but I don’t care to come back for 3rd to try my luck .
