My fiancé and I each own a small business in New Jersey, and we were on the hunt for some coffee this morning while visiting MDI and honestly, only landed on MILAGRO because they were open earliest!
Then, we read reviews - and couldn't help ourselves from trying the exact items some of the 1 star reviews complained about. Because as business owners, we've both had some crazy reviews left for our business that we don't understand.
Let me say... AMAZING experience. We had 1 blueberry scone to share, 1 breakfast burrito each, and we each had a 16oz latte. It came to about $30. I don't know where you're from, but in New Jersey, you could never get a decent breakfast for 2 - lattes - and a pastry for that cheap!
We sat outside on the cute patio. They offered free WiFi. The owners and staff clearly have poured their hearts into decorating, organizing, and maintaining their shop as it's also clean - spotless - and adorable.
And, Shout-out to the owners of this place for defending their business's reviews on Google in a professional, kind manner. It's so hard to give the best service possible have people still attack the reputation of your livelihood. You want cheaper coffee? A place that will give you free exchanges because you don't like the custom thing you ordered? Maybe you shouldn't eat out while traveling 🤷🏼♂️
Good luck MILAGRO and we hope to come back the next time...
Read moreNice shop…love supporting small businesses! My complaint is for my latte that i ordered. The drink was ok…nothing special. However, $4 for a 12 ounce drink that only comes with 1 shot of espresso is just too much. Basically you are drinking 1 1/2 ounces of espresso and 10 1/2 ounces of milk give or take. I will never understand the single shot drink trend since most espresso shots must be pulled as a double. Pastries were ok, had a blueberry muffin and thought it was a bit on the sweet side. I am not from here, but i wanted to write an honest review of my experience. The employees are friendly and professional and the shop is charming.
In response to the owner…..Yes, i am aware. I am a professional chef and business owner myself. I do not mind paying $4 or $5 for a drink, but my opinion is it should be a double shot of espresso which has nothing to do with labor or milk price. Congratulations on the success of your store, I like the vibe, people are very friendly,...
Read moreAfter being disappointed with another bakery in town, we went to Milagro off the suggestion of someone we ran into in town that we had met on a hike a few days prior.
They have a great selection of pastries and a small breakfast menu. I got the breakfast bagel (bacon, egg, cheese) and my boyfriend got the lox bagel on a rosemary and sea salt bagel. Although the bagels were unfortunately small, they were quite fresh and tasty.
The pastries we got were good though (blueberry muffin, banana pecan muffin, and a chocolate coconut macaroon). And we hadn’t realized two we ordered were gluten free, and the woman at the register asked if we wanted them bagged separately, which is incredibly nice. Although neither of us has gluten allergies, my son has severe nut allergies and it’s always nice to see places offer to bag things separately due to diet restrictions.
The staff was incredibly friendly and we enjoyed our food. We will definitely return if we’re in...
