In a 5 night trip to Acadia this past August where we stayed in Southwest Harbor we ate at Harbor Table 3 times - I have never returned on the same vacation to the same restaurant for dinner multiple times but David and Nikki's restaurant is a cut above the rest. I grew up in NYC and now live in Boston but have spent time living in Albany and visiting Buffalo - my absolute favorite part of Albany and Buffalo was hands down finding restaurants where the owners actually work in their restaurant, know their regulars and spend time getting to know new customers, deliver five star quality food, bonus points for farm to table, and where you can see they treat the rest of their staff as family - a rare combination I have never found in NYC or Boston. Harbor Table did not disappoint on the 5 star locally sourced food with small town charm and hospitality in a chic but inviting atmosphere.
The real caesar salad with an abundance of anchovies was so good I ate it twice and have now been ruined for all other caesar salads. The crispy kale, heirloom tomato, local feta, and puffed quinoa salad was another standout. Their biergarten out back (Harbor Yard) was a great place to hangout, play some board games, and enjoy much need refueling after a long day of hiking - the pretzel with Bavarian cheese dip was so good I packed up the rest of the cheese dip to bring home. Their homemade pastas were cooked to perfection and both the pesto and the bolognese brought me back to my days studying abroad in Italy. Rounding out the meal was a top notch selection of wines, homemade limoncello, and expertly crafted cocktails - the Acadia blueberry gin is a must try.
Do yourself a favor, stay in the quaint non-touristy town of Southwest Harbor and eat a meal or three at...
Read moreGreat food, environment, nice attitude when in restaurant in person. But poor time management and attitude after bill is paid
We understand if you are extremely busy, but the estimated/actual time of availability has a huge gap.
We know we might not be the nicest customers, but we are also not rude. Customers are allowed to feel disappointed and act that way.
I see that we are not the first customer who complained about your estimation time, but instead of listening to that customer’s review, you got defensive and joked on him/her.
I would say, customers are not Gods, but we are the bosses. And our voice should be heard. Or you should only cook for your family, who might be nicer to you.

Our service dog is new, does have paperwork which you did not ask to look at. Service dogs can not be discriminated, and no law requires wearing vest. You are showing signs of discrimination towards our dog and it’s super disrespectful
I did say food is great, I also did say people are nice in person. Why don’t you address the real issue here? The real issue is, we do accept the estimated time, and we had committed to it already. No one ever updates us on the real time, so we kept waiting because it’s already late, and we already spent time and energy. Yes, we could had went to another place if the estimated time is accurate, not one entire hour off. We are in a little town where not much restaurants open after 8pm. Not like we have as many choices as we had at 6pm
No person in our group said anything about “not feel like tipping” to you. Not even to mention that we did pay 20% tip.
I could had rated 4 stars for the timing issue. Took another two stars away because of your...
Read moreService was extremely disappointing saved slightly by the fact that the food was pretty good (once we actually got it).
Put our name down on the list and was told the wait would be 60-90 minutes. No problem. Was happy to go down the street to the sports bar to hang. 75 minutes passed and no phone call. We walked back to check in to find seats open. A couple had walked in right ahead of us and was seated right away. We were then told we needed to wait even though our name was on the list and it was clear that they had accidentally skipped over us based on the way names were crossed out.
Was finally seated and greeted pretty promptly but took the waitress 20 minutes to bring back a pepsi. Took 30 minutes to get our salad (which I watched die on the line for 15 minutes while the cook dropped the fried elements. I’m sure the kitchen knows better. (Either drop the fried portion immediately when you get the salad ticket and plate while it cooks or just get rid of the fried element if that is holding you up. Added nothing to the salad and seems to be causing more stress than it’s worth).
Waited 45 minutes for our two pizzas and a pasta. Again kitchen knows better and can do better. Really didn’t feel any hustle from them despite how behind they appeared to be on tickets.
Felt bad for our waitress but at the same time they really weren’t that busy for how flustered and apathetic towards our experience she came off. Never got her name though I believe it was Caroline from the top of our check.
Don’t waste your money here until they get a reservation system, food runner,...
