My husband and I were here on 8/21/24 and got dinner via the drive-thru and our order totaled $29.00. We paid, for our food and receipt, and went home. The next morning while checking my online bank statement, I saw a charge from Del Taco for $290.00.
I immediately checked our receipt which said we should have only paid $29.00 so then I called Del Taco. I ended up having to call 6 times before someone would pick up. Once I finally got a hold of someone, (a woman named Jessica), I explained what I discovered and asked what we can do to get this resolved. Jessica let me know that the manager would not get in until 10:00am (when I called it was around 7:30am) and she took down my information and assured me that she would pass it along to the management when she came in.
10am came and went, as did 11am. I wanted to be patient and allow the manager to reach out to me, especially since I ended up having a work meeting that I had to attend. By the time by meeting was over, it was after 12:00pm and I had zero missed calls or voicemails.
So I ended up calling myself and spoke with the manager named Elea/Aliya. I again explained the issue and she aggressively assured me that she has found the credit card charge receipt and already sent it to HR and some other party to review and that she would call or text me when she heard back. When I asked for some sort of timeframe on when I'd hear back, she couldn't tell me - just that she has already sent everything up.
Elea/Aliya was incredibly rude and acted as if I was inconveniencing her and that she didn't really care that I was charged almost $300 for a $29.00 order. Her apology didn't seem sincere and again, acted as if she didn't really care.
By 4pm that afternoon, I still had not heard anything so my husband decided to stop by the restaurant on his way home for an update.
Again, Elea/Aliya was incredibly rude and again acted as if this whole situation was an inconvenience to her. She also lied to my husband and told him that she had called me at 10am when she first got in, which was not the case - I had to call her at 12pm because I had not heard anything from them.
My husband had asked for us to be contacted by 3pm the next day (8/23) or we would be reporting this charge to our bank as fraudulent and allow them to handle it.
Today is 8/23 and we never ended up hearing from anyone at Del Taco. I've checked my voicemail, texts, and missed calls and I have nothing from them. So we have reported the $290 charge to our bank and they have opened an investigation.
I would like to believe that the $290 charge was an innocent mistake, however with how this situation has been handled, it makes me think otherwise. We are incredibly disappointed and frustrated with how this has been handled by this Del Taco location and we won't be returning nor recommending Del Taco to friends and family anymore either.
Check your bank accounts after going to this location, my receipt showed the correct total of $29.00 whole my card was charged $290. Had I not checked my online bank statement, I never...
Read moreMar 22, Order #25536562473517061 We got home and noticed we were missing the Donut Bites 4ct.
I understand, mistakes are made. Rather than driving 6 miles that night back to the store, I figured I would just request the Donut Bites the next time I was in the area.
Tonight I was in the area and decided to request that I get the Donut Bites I paid for and did not receive. I entered the drive through around 8:30pm. The girl on the speaker denied my request and said it was "sketchy". I offered to show her my receipt but she said because it wasn't from today, there's nothing she could do.
I requested to talk to her manager but she said they were not on site. After some back and forth, she refused to give me what I paid for and did not receive.
I have NEVER been to a restaraunt where food that I paid for and did not receive was not immediately made right when requested, regardless of how long it had been since the mistake had been made. Other restaraunts have never even asked to see a receipt! And I absolutely have never had a worker accuse me of trying to be dishonest!
I am blown away by the treatment I received. Accusing me of being dishonest for an item that costs $1.79! Like Del Taco employees never make mistakes? I don't think there's anything you can do at this point to make this right. I...
Read moreOriginal post: I am so bummed about this location. When I moved from California to Utah I was very excited that there was a local del taco but darn if they don't mess up my order. Every. Single. Time. It is always my kids burrito meal. My only ask is no sauce in it. Out of the probably four times I go a month they only get it right one time. One time! I always have to call about which is so annoying. I should stop eating there all together but every time my kids earn take out they choose this and we always have to do an additional trip to get their order corrected. I don't even wanna bother driving back over there anymore cause the cost of gas is more than the food is actually worth. It is just worth it not to go anymore. Find another location or different fast food. I promise this place will disappoint. Updated review: I don't know if there has been a change of management or a change in staff or what but this location has seriously stepped up it's game. We go on Wednesdays because the kids meal is one of the most affordable. Anyways they have been doing amazing and the staff is really great. I'm so glad to change...
