On Saturday we picked up some food to go at the swad cabin. We placed a phone order and went and picked it up 20 minutes later and it was ready when we got there. The atmosphere seems nice but I can’t judge on that since we didn’t eat there. We ordered just one small normal entrée and one other small dish. We were immediately told it was $47 which is absolutely absurd for what we got.We brought it home and opened it and it smelt delicious and tasted delicious and I have no complaints about the taste. However these tacos we were charged $14 and they said there was an extra two dollar charge for wanting chicken. After I ate it I called them and asked them why we were charged two dollars extra for chicken and they said that for any meat you put on it it’s an extra two dollars. I don’t understand why they wouldn’t include that in their price because when I question them they said the only thing in the taco is the meat of choice and spices. These tacos were about one bite size for each taco. So we were charged $16 for these tacos and they were delicious however they were so so small. When I’m paying $16 for a plate of tacos I expect them to be really good sized tacos. with $16 I thought I would be full but after one bite to finish up each taco three tacos was absolutely nothing and I was still starving and had to still make me some food because it wasn’t even considered a full meal. And there no they asked me if I wanted but they didn’t tell me it was extra and I didn’t realize that it was And there wasn’t even enough of it for $10 to have my husband finish off his entire butter chicken dish with naan to dip in it. Their prices are absolutely asinine and their portion sizes are really quite small for what you’re paying for. We live around the corner and I would like to make this a regular dinner spot but with how small their portions are and how much they charged I don’t think we’ll be able to eat there again. I would expect these kind of prices at a fancy Really nice restaurant which this is not. I’m thoroughly disappointed...
Read moreI am here at the restaurant right now. The service was quick and very cheerful. I will keep you updated. We have ordered some food and they are appetizers. One of them is girl, lobster and samosas. Let’s see how long it takes to get it. I’m waiting to review the stars until the very end of this restaurant review. We got samosas very quickly. So far it looks like they only heard half of the order. There are four of us and two Samosas . Well that’s awkward. I guess we will share. even though I hate to share. OK, they came with the other enticements like garlic naan. And then oh, bunch of dishes. The samosas or nice and spicy. And their level of 1 to 3 seems to be pretty accurate. The garlic fried rice was well received as was all of their dishes. The lobster appetizer was not that good. It had a taste that was not really pleasant. The presentation was nice though. And my friends liked it so they were allowed to finish it. The atmosphere of the restaurant is very warm. I know I could do a better review by giving you pictures and titles of the dishes. But I think I had chicken Bartha. There was a lot of food so we brought home a lot of food and I know it’ll be spicier tomorrow but I’m looking forward to it! Yeah, I’ll give this restaurant pretty high stars. I just wanted to keep it to four stars because the lobster appetizer was quite expensive and not very good. But everything else was on point! Everything! I highly recommend...
Read moreWas really excited to have an Indian place in Spanish Fork. Ordered saag paneer for my friend who is a vegetarian, and mixed veggie curry for me off the vegan menu. I am allergic to cow's milk, so I figured ordering off the vegan menu would be safe, especially at an Indian restaurant.
Two bites into my veggie curry I wonder, is this tofu I'm biting into, or cheese? Their mobile website (where I ordered from) doesn't show ingredients, so I have to get on a computer in order to hover over the menu items with my mouse to see what is in their dishes (bad web design!). I see that "Indian cottage cheese balls" is listed in the ingredients for "mixed veggie curry," on their vegan menu.
I call them and asked them to confirm that there is cheese on a vegan menu item. I explain to them what "vegan" means, and I'm told that I was expected to put "vegan" in the notes on my order so they would know to take the paneer out.
After telling them that that was not communicated on their menu or website (not to mention I was ordering off the vegan menu from an Indian restaurant, and had no way to know that paneer would be included), they offered a full refund and apologized profusely for the mistake. I appreciate that, but now I get to look forward to the consequences of consuming cow's milk.
Oh, and my friend was not a fan of their saag paneer. The saag is bright green, almost like baby food. Will not be ordering...
