Briquettes Steakhouse — Restaurant in Spanish Fort

My husband and I own a business in Spanish Fort. We have eaten here for years, but Friday at 2:30 was our last trip. We got steaks that were really tough and I explained it to the waitress. I had taken my husband's left overs and transferred it to my plate, asked for a box so I could take it to my dogs. The waitress said just a moment, when I told her about the meal. I assumed she was getting a manager. But, we paid the bill and was leaving. The hostess said was everything alright? I said actually that was a very tough steak. With a smart attitude, she said, well, if you hadn't eaten it all, I could have done something about it! I guess the waitress assumed my husband had eaten all of his, simce she didn't see me transfer his left overs to my plate. I said, We didn't eat it all, it's in this box to take home to my dogs. She said Yeah, well...and turned and walked away. Just walked away while i was trying to explain! She wasn't helping anyone else, she just walked away! We didn't want anything, asked for nothing. We didn't want our money back, we didn't ask for a manager, but wasn't afforded even kindness. Just wanted the cook to know. I can overlook a bad meal. It happens sometimes, but I can't overlook rudeness. We often take clients there for a meal. We spend a lot of money there. That smart mouth little girl just lost them a lifelong customer, all because we just wanted to let them know we had a not so great experience. I will never set foot in that establishment again. That rude and smart mouth kid doesn't belong in public business with that attitude. If there was an option to give service a zero, i would....

My husband and I have eaten at the West Mobile location several times and always had great service and great food. Tonight, we were in Daphne and decided to try this location.

Let me start with the good. The waitress had a good attitude and was sweet, but that is about where the good ends. We knew what we wanted, so we ordered right when the waitress came over. Our salads were brought out right away but not the bread. My husband ordered a Cesar salad, and it had an overwhelming taste of garlic. Before I could take three bites of my salad, our meal was brought to our table. We also ordered an appetizer. However, it was never brought to our table. My husband told the waitress that we did not want it now since our food was already there. He asked for it to be removed from our bill. We had to ask for bread to be brought to our table, or we would not have had any.

As far as the food goes, it lacked quality and taste. Our steaks (10oz & 12oz Ribeye) were very thin and didn't look very tasty. I am not sure they were ribeye steaks (and almost certain they were not the correct portion). Upon cutting into it, we both found that they were not cooked very well either. Half of it was more med/well, and the other half was med/rare. The steak also lacked flavor. We both ordered mushrooms with our meals, and that was the best thing we ate.

The total for 2 steak meals (we drank water and did not get our appetizer) was around $66. Also, there is a 3% charge for using a payment method...

Philly cheesesteak rolls are the only reason food is getting 3 stars, instead of none or a 1. This is not my first time coming here but it will probably be my last except for appetizers. I was really tired so I didn't say anything, I just paid and left after getting my dinner. I ordered the 10 oz ribeye rare with onion rings and mashed potatoes as my sides. The food I received reminded me of cafeteria or hospital food quality. An ice cream scoop literally what it looked like on a small plate, followed by a warm plate with a brown piece of meat and 4 large onion rings. No juice coming out of the meat and a yellowish drizzle on the steak. Being overtired I just needed to leave and get home. Later when I was better rested I went to heat it up and ended up having to scrub off whatever seasoning they put on this steak in order to eat it and I ended up giving most of it to my dogs. The onion rings were overly seasoned in the batter and not well so those got thrown out. By this time I was just done and threw out the bland mashed potatoes. The quality of food has gone way down compared to a few months ago when I had the best food there. I guess I need to find another restaurant for good steak 😞. This is sad because the atmosphere and service was impeccable as always but I'm not going to spend $70 for abysmal food or...
