HIGHLY. RECOMMEND. I can't say this strongly enough. I went for the August Friday fish fry and OMG!!! The food! It was delicious and there was a LOT of it! When the waitress first brought out my fish plate, it had three pieces of flounder and I told her I had ordered the flounder and shrimp. She said, "Oh, no. I have to go back and get that. It comes in a separate dish." I was floored. (See photos for prices and photos of food.) I cannot begin to tell you how awesome the fish and shrimp were. The batter for both was light and just crisp enough. Neither were overcooked and were seasoned just right. I ended up taking most of the fish home because I ate all of the shrimp. I believe the tartar sauce was homemade, as well as the coleslaw - both also good. Service was on point and I was checked on regularly. I couldn't have asked for better service. The atmosphere is clean and neat. Very subdued with light music playing in the background. They have two tables that seat six/eight and the rest seat four or can be pushed together. As I was finishing my meal, Chef Q, the owner, came out to speak to the tables. It was a nice touch. And I'll say it again... Whether you come for Soulful Sunday (which is a soul food menu) or their regular brunch menu - you cannot go wrong here. I've heard their cinnamon rolls...
Read moreI cannot recommend Fleeming Street enough! We were exploring Spencer; just outside of Salisbury, for the day and stumbled upon this wonderful place to eat. Its located right down town at the other end of the plaza from the sheriffs office. The atmosphere was calming and the decor contemporary.... I loved the wall of family recipes framed on the wall. Now lets get down to the food..... because it was OUTSTANDING!!!! Just to make things difficult for them we were a table full of epi pen users and severe allergies and the wonderful server and the chef took ot all in stride... but with great care to our needs. We were also approached several times to make sure we could have this or that..... The presentation was great, but the flavors were just wonderful, truly! The chef/owner as well as her charming husband came to our table and spoke with us... They were an absolute delight!. But back to the food.... OMG!!!! And the house special lemonade.... I was ready to order a gallon to go! I wouldnt even let our wonderful server take my plate until i finished every last vite. So yes..... I cleaned my plate. we had their customized brunch menu which I highly recommend. The rest of their menu is quite fantastic as well. Looking forward to returning as...
Read more💗💗💗 I had the luck of trying this cute, quaint, eatery while visiting family. My niece absolutely loves trains and we were already in the area for the train museum 🚂 across the street. The food was prepared fresh… the taste was like generations of southern comfort recipes passed down, and the professional service was infused hospitality…. the southern kind kind to be exact which I’ve missed since I flew the coup and moved away to the big bustling cities. The collard greens… grateful for the vegetarian friendly option 😋 ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ and the banana bread ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️. Family enjoyed the burgers and the potato 🥔 crisps were just magic. I’m a fan of thin cut everything… especially potztiez and tomatoes. The super-thin-cut potato goodness had me wanting an entire bag! I will definitely try this when I’m in town with...
