Medlar Coffee Co. — Restaurant in Spencer

I recently visited Medlar Coffee Co.'s new location and had an incredibly frustrating experience that has left me unwilling to return. As a first-time customer, I expected a smooth and enjoyable experience, but unfortunately, that was far from the reality.

My first issue arose when I tried to place my order online, only to find that their system was not functioning. Reluctantly, I called in my order at 11:40 AM. The person on the phone seemed disinterested and didn't bother to ask for my name, phone number, or provide any estimate of when my order would be ready.

Upon arriving at the café at 12:10 PM, my order was nowhere to be found. It hadn't even been passed along to the person responsible for preparing the food. I had to wait while the staff scrambled to figure out what had happened.

When my sandwich finally emerged from the chaotic kitchen, it was handed to me without any acknowledgment or apology for the delay. As I checked my order, I realized that the soup I had ordered was missing. Instead of proactively addressing the error, the staff member simply went to fetch the soup cups, leaving my food sitting open on the counter unattended.

To add insult to injury, I noticed the person preparing the food casually sipping on a latte while my order was delayed and mishandled. There was no effort made to rectify the situation, such as offering a discount, a complimentary drink, or even a sincere apology.

Overall, my experience at Medlar Coffee Co. was incredibly disappointing. The lack of organization, communication, and customer service left me feeling frustrated and undervalued as a customer. I certainly won't be returning and cannot recommend this...

Great coffee shop! I prefer black drip coffee or americanos, and both are wonderful here- flavorful but not heavy acidity that some coffee shops get when they over roast. I think the americano has a slight edge over the drip. All the fancier drinks are great as well. I didn’t have any baked goods, but they sure looked yummy. The space is great, larger indoor and small outdoor seating. Staff was so friendly and great at answering questions. Fun shopping area in the back. I’ve been waiting and waiting for Spencer to get decent coffee! Now when I visit my mom in town, I don’t have to pack my own grinder, kettle, and pour over items. I get to support local business instead! Win win.

Oh and they don’t accidentally put two lids on your coffee, it’s actually a a neat double top that twists to close the spout. Yes, I’m old now, the...

I had an eggs Benedict in Asheville NC that was also amazing but this is the best ever breakfast sandwich !

I had one yesterday and had to spot in today for another one!

Sausage Sandwich Served with bacon jam( the star of the show…..and needs to be a topping on everything i eat!) Egg is nice and light and cooked on a skillet right in front of you as you wait. A real egg no a premade egg like you would find at ⭐️🦌’s On a croissant bun. Wonderfully light and yummy

Added a Fourth and Grand iced coffee
