Got breakfast yesterday, and waited 15 minutes in the drive thru, then when we got home, we were missing 2 hashbrowns so I had to drive all the way back, a 20 minute round trip, to get our hashbrowns. Today, literally the next day, we had a tight schedule and needed a quick meal, we did a mobile order and went to pick up our food and got there at 10:27am. We didn’t get to the second window until 10:40am, where they asked if folded egg was okay on our egg McMuffin instead and we thought it’d be faster so we said yes. Well, we still didn’t get our food until 10:53am.. They did give us an apple pie for waiting, but we waited almost 30 minutes and there was 3 of us. When we got home, we were missing something from our order again, for the second day in a row, after patiently waiting for our food. We were missing the sausage egg muffin that they were supposed to have just put folded egg on. So, again, I had to drive the 20 minute round trip just to get my sandwich while my family ate their food and the rest of mine got cold. When I got to the restaurant, the drive thru was packed so I parked and went inside because I thought it’d be faster. I got there at 11:10am, patiently waited to tell them I was missing my food and that I still needed a sandwich. They said that since it was lunch time I could either choose a lunch sandwich, a free meal card, or just come back tomorrow. I was hungry now and my family was already eating their food so I decided I would just do a mcdouble even though thats not what I had ordered. I ended up standing there waiting for my mcdouble until 11:35am when I finally just had to ask someone about my food, and apparently they had forgotten or not communicated that I needed my food because they had no idea I was waiting or what I even needed. I ended up leaving at 11:40am, and the drive thru line that had been out the parking lot when I got there had all gotten their food but I didn’t get home until 11:50am and my family was already done with their food and mine was ice cold, including the pie we had gotten for waiting 30 minutes the first time. I don’t typically leave reviews, especially bad ones, but this experience was horrible and turned an already stressful day even more difficult and made it so we had to rush to do the stuff we needed to do. I’ve worked in the customer service industry for a long time so I get it, I understand it can get busy but there’s no reason I should have to spend an hour and a half just trying to get my “fast food” that was supposed to be convenient, especially at $35-40 for our whole family. At that point, we could have just saved the money and made our own meal faster...
Read moreI just now visited this location and got food via the drive thru. Whilst consuming the quarter pounder with cheese that I ordered I noticed what I thought was a particularly tough pickle rind.
Not be bested by any pickle, I drew upon my stored energy reserves and began chewing with determination and vigor! It didn't take long for me to realize that this was no pickle rind or any other edible substance.
I immediately stopped chewing and pulled this foreign object from my mouth. Who or what was this intruder to my meal?
A bloody bandage?!?
No.
A contact lense!?
Nope.
Alas! It was merely a small pleated piece of paper, possibly a type of wax paper. I assume that the beef patties probably come in wax paper dividers and a piece of one made it into my sandwich.
Not that big of a deal, right? Certainly this mishap will never be retold around any campfires or at any overnighters. No, it was an honest mistake. Except that it has temporarily ruined my appetite for McDonald's all together.
So, what should I do? Call and speak to a manager? All they would do is have a fresh sandwich made for me, but that's no solution. My dinner has been ruined by a mistake of their employee. So, they should do something to compensate for this, shouldn't they?
Before I post this, I'm going to call their manager and see what solution they offer. Stay tuned...
Once again, stay tuned for the conclusion of our adventure. Will the hero be refunded a single dollar and transform into a villain as a result? Or will our hero be refunded the full price of a quarter pounder with cheese?
In anticlimactic fashion, I was refunded the full price of a quarter pounder with cheese. I didn't even have to show my receipt! I'm pleasantly surprised at how easily this was made right for me. They even thanked me for coming back to the store to...
Read moreMcDonald's is McDonald's. A hamburger from a McD's in Spokane will taste exactly the same in New York or Paris or Honolulu. Every time I taste anything from McDonald's, I can close my eyes and pretend I'm not far away from my hometown, but instead right there. Even the Playland rooms have a distinctive scent that bring to mind happy memories of playing in them as a little girl, almost forty years ago, to recent memories of my own children playing in them. The food isn't great, but it IS good, just not overly spectacular. I think maybe we all feel that way, a little bit. Their beverages are crisply cold and refreshing, or hot and delicious. McDonald's...no matter who you are or where you are, most of us in the human race have this in common (definitely not ALL, but a LOT): we've all experienced the same flavors and tastes and smells from the same chain of fast food restaurants. It's pretty epic, if you put some thought into it. The success of this franchise is phenomenal. To me, McDonald's reminds me of home. Five stars not for the food per sé, but for the experience. I think every child should at least have one Happy Meal, and every adult should have at least one Big Mac in their lifetime. My grandpa loved Big Macs. And now, I do too. Everytime I eat one I think of him. I've even worked at a McDonald's! And I've come to this conclusion: I think my children should work there, too, because the things I learned as an employee there were immeasurably valuable to various aspects of my life, like a strong work ethic and punctuality and customer service...to this day, its still "clean as you go"! Thanks McDonald's, for being an American "icon" and tradition. You may be unhealthy to eat but you're sure yummy and it's a fun place to visit! McDonald's: Five Gold Stars...
