Thai food fit for royalty, yet served so kindly — like eating with family. We have been eating at Thai Kitchen for 20 some years and in that time have found it to be perhaps the most authentic, and certainly the highest quality of any Thai restaurant we have dined at in the States…Our favorites include the dumplings, TomKhaGai soup, green curry and the panang curry, MooTod (pork&garlic), and of course PadThai…among many others (the peanut sauce is also phenomenal —be sure to order extra peanut sauce maybe extra extra peanut sauce, you’ll be craving that for days). It is worth reiterating that the Panang Curry is quite like none other— A dish that is so special you can’t stop thinking about it … Paul and his daughter Melissa can answer any questions, while Benji truly creates wonders in the kitchen. Paul will be happy to make suggestions for your entire meal and always has time to converse!! The SwimmingRama (at Melissa’s suggestion) for our anniversary dinner in mid-October was fantastic. Don’t forget to try a Thai tea and coffee!!!!! **Note that for the time being, since the pandemic and everything else in our ever-changing world, Thai Kitchen is doing takeout orders only and they are opened for I think four or 5 afternoons a week… you will need to call early in the morning or leave a message on their answering machine a couple days ahead to place an order… it may sound cumbersome, but it’s not (trust me). it is a very quick process, they handle everything efficiently and beautifully. they do very few orders in a day, so great care is taken to serve you the best possible meal.

Update: only offer take out I called 3 times, no answer, so ordered through google/square. It was a less than full menu... so i settled on the red curry. I ordered around 9:45 and my pick up time was noon. When I pulled up a super friendly woman came out, asked me my name and went in and got my order. It was packaged very neatly. I ordered a level 2 spice, and it packed a kick up front but not a lingering burn. More flavor than heat. For reference Frank's red hot or Buffalo wild wings mild is my preference. I feel like people who love really spicy food would love a 4 or 5 here. I thought the curry had good flavor, but find the whole ordering, get a time slot thing less than ideal. I guess it works for them. It also seems a little expensive for what it was, I guess I would prefer to sit down somewhere at this price point. If scarcity = quality, then the star rating here is deserved... you need to order lunch at 9am... for pickup after 11am, they stop answering their phone by 11.

Coming from San Francisco, we had no idea what to expect from a Thai restaurant in Spokane Valley. On the recommendation of the very kind and friendly owner and server, we ordered panang curry (spice level 0/5, for the midwestern palate), jumbo prawns with basil in chili oil (spice level 3/5 - quite hot, but not overpoweringly so), and two orders of rice. Both dishes were incredibly delicious, and were clearly made with super fresh ingredients. The chef accommodated a broad range of spice tolerances without compromising on flavor — sweet, savory, sour, all in balance! We also ordered a Thai tea (dairy free version, with coconut milk). It had great depth and was not too sweet. If we lived in the area, we would definitely be regulars at Thai Kitchen. I recommend calling ahead, as the wait can be rather long (but well worth it) if you just show up like we did!

It is difficult to convey in a review like this how incredible and unique a restaurant like this is. We have been coming to Thai Kitchen as a family and extended family for over 20 years. It is not just the best Thai food I have ever had, but my opinion is that Thai Kitchen is the best restaurant of any type in all of Spokane. When we have friends or family visit us from all over the US, we make sure that we take them to Thai Kitchen. Several family members, when we ask them what they want to do while visiting us in Spokane, have answered that they don't really care what we do, as long as we can get to Thai Kitchen at least once. If anyone says they don't really like Thai food, I tell them that they just need to try Thai Kitchen and they will change their mind, and I haven't been proven wrong yet. It is too bad they no longer offer dining in, because the family that owns and cooks and runs it all is so sweet, and I miss having meals at their tables where we could interact more, and Paul (owner) would crack jokes and recall little details about our family that we had only mentioned offhand months or years before. My oldest son, who first came to Thai Kitchen while my wife was pregnant with him, is now 21 and has lived in Thailand for the last 2 years. When he gets home next month, one of the first places we will go is over to Thai Kitchen, so he can talk to Paul and his family in Thai (and hopefully get some cooking secrets out of him). It is more than just the best restaurant around, it is the life's work of a family that has provided great memories and company and my favorite foods for at least half of my life. It becomes more of an event that you have to plan for when you have to call your order in at 9, and like yesterday, they had their orders filled for the day within a half hour. They were kind enough, even though I didn't call until they were booked for the day at 9:30, to stay later and make my food so that we could have it for dinner. I hope that eventually they will get back to in-person dining, but until then, I will keep hitting redial starting at 9 am as often as I can plan ahead enough to do it! I hope that I have been able to convey a little about how important and valuable Thai Kitchen is to Spokane. Now I will have to wait until next week to order again... My favorites are Moo Tod, Moussamon Curry, any fried rice dish, and the Tom soups, but everything there is great. Also the sweet rice and ice cream dish is amazing after a spicy Thai meal. Thank you Paul, and Benji, and Melissa, for giving us Thai Kitchen for so many years! If Google allowed you to give just one 6 star review in your lifetime, I would give 6 stars to...

The Best Thai Food in Spokane. Owned by Paul and Benji who are both originally from Thailand. Their daughter Melissa works in the restaurant as well, assisting Benji in the kitchen or helping Paul out front, she is such a sweetheart. You will never see a more cleaner restaurant including restrooms and you will never taste better Thai food than what Benji cooks. Paul is so nice and friendly, he remembers your name and always make you feel at home. Don't forget to always give a big hello to Benji when you pass by the serving hatch when you go to be seated. My suggestions; Thai Tea, Chicken Fried Rice, Chicken Pad Thai, Egg Rolls and BBQ Pork. I am not into curry but everyone that I have spoken to that has tried their curry dishes says they are excellent. I have been eating at their restaurant for over 25 years and have never been disappointed with their food or service. Benji has always been THE COOK and thats why her food remains to be so good to this day. Because of the Covid-19 pandemic they are only open Tuesday-Saturday 11am to 2pm for phone orders and you pick up at this time. Hint....You must start calling at 830am if you want your food ready for pick up...
