This place has inspired me!
I went to the South Hill location EVERY day for almost half a year, always getting the same thing: 24oz blue lotus. It was fine for a long time and I don’t know what changed, but I started to notice that in almost every drink I got, the ice would fill the whole cup; six sips and my drink is gone. So I started asking for light ice and some of the girls were great and only put half a cup of ice instead of a full cup, while others still filled the whole cup with ice. So I started asking for the ice in a separate cup and the lotus cup filled all the way. They said it’s an extra dollar if I want my cup filled up, which I was happy to pay as this drink can last me all day when I actually get 24oz. But then after a few times of asking for the ice separate, I noticed the drink was a visibly much lighter shade of blue, and it tasted like water. So it was pretty clear to me that even after I paid the extra dollar, they were only filling my cup with extra soda water and not adding any extra lotus. That happened a few times and one day after waiting 20 minutes in a two car line, I started to ask myself why I was still coming here.
The final straw for me was when I wanted to use the free drink I had on my punch card and they told me it only covers $5.75 and I would have to pay the $1.40 difference for my drink. So the “free drink” that you earn after buying 10, is not actually free. And no, it doesn’t say that anywhere on the punch card nor was disclosed beforehand. No big deal for me to just pay the difference, but if you advertise that it’s free then it should be, ya know, free lol.
So you must be wondering, how did they inspire me? Well after too many watered down drinks, I finally just went out and bought my own Lotus and syrup so I can make my drink at home every day and never come back here. It sucks because I really like to support local businesses, but this one has done all they can to make it not worth it.
Also here’s a photo of my drink after asking for “light ice” and after a lot of it melted...
Read moreSo here's the deal ... I freaking love this coffee kiosk! While the coffee is amazing, it's not the only reason I go there every day. I could drive to all of the coffee places in Spokane, and I'd most likely find a lot of friendly baristas to make my drink. But, none of these coffee masters are as friendly and helpful as the South Hill White Dog girls! When I roll up to the White Dog window, I'm greeted by name, no matter which smiling face takes my order. And speaking of "my order," I always get the same thing; a 32-ounce iced keto-style Americano with sugar free chocolate, vanilla, and macadamia nut flavors, with heavy whipping cream and light ice, with a large straw instead of two skinny straws. That's a mouthful AND a brainful! All of the girls at White Dog have memorized my order and begin fixing it the moment I pull up to the window. Oh, and my chihuahua, Oliver Kitty, goes with me when I go for coffee, and he loves to get a lid with whipped cream on it (his mouth is too tiny to eat doggy treats). So, each time we roll up, the girls get his whipped cream to him right away, before he can even cry out for it! And yes, the coffee is magnificent, too! There are over thirty drive-thru coffee places in Spokane, but as long as I get the personal touch that I get at White Dog, nobody else will be satisfying my...
Read moreA very generous two stars for the South Hill location. I’ve gone multiple times, really wanting to like this place and always hoping it will be better than the last time, and it never is. From waiting in a one car line for 20 minutes, waiting another 5 at the window before anyone even acknowledges that I’m there, and then ANOTHER 5-10 minute wait for my very simple drink to be made (which always comes out tasting like milk anyway), to the standoffish service, to the subpar drink, I really don’t understand why people recommend this place. The long wait times I could understand if there was only one person working, but I’m always surprised to see 2-4 girls standing around, chatting. Also they charge you a card processing fee on your already overpriced drink, even if you’re paying cash. Apparently if you’re paying cash, it’s your job as the customer to specify that they not charge you a card processing fee. Pretty sure that’s not even legal. Bad coffee, bad service, what a joke. I added one star because my drink is usually just ok, as long as I’m not ordering anything with...
