Kissho has probably the best sushi in York County, so far, at least as far as I am concerned.
Its over by the York hospital across the street in a small plaza, the location is a bit awkward - and there is no restroom in the restaurant, it is a shared restroom in the plaza, which is a bit different.
Kissho is more of your traditional Japanese style restaurant, it is very pleasant, quiet and relaxing - without all the gimmicy trappings of other Asian places.
The service is friendly and impeccable, I've eaten here many time over the years and never had a complaint. They are BYOB which is ok - but I would prefer that they serve beer or wine, but you can't win them all.
Typically I would get nigiri or sashimi here, but on different occasions I have had a few of their rolls as well - I love the Akira and the Atlantic rolls, they are my favorites. The kids often get the fried rice or the yakisoba - sometimes the udon. It is all wonderful here.
If you really love sushi and/or real Japanese cuisine Kissho is worth a visit - truly a gem...
Read moreVery disapointed in the way this restaurant is managed. I had a couple of decent experiences here in the past. Solid B sushi at a reasonable price. But the last few times I've been here I have been really surpised in a negative way. One time I came in around 6-7PM on a weeknight and there are 3-6 tables sat. Under 12 people eating in the restaurant. I wanted to place a to go order and I was told it would be at least an hour for any sushi. A complete joke. I understand that there were likely other to go orders but you can clearly see the workers in the back and no one is moving quickly. If you can't handle 5 tables and a few to go orders you are clearly doing something wrong. I left and had to go somewhere else. On another occasion I dined in and was treated extremly poorly. The Hosts/servers clearly did not want to be there and were very rude and gave off very poor energy. Rather than making us feel welcomed made us feel like nusance for a very basic order of a few rolls. Won't be coming back here and suggest you...
Read moreWithout a doubt the best sushi in south central Pennsylvania. They just do everything well from the food itself to the little things like the dry erase menus (I’m looking at you, missing pencil eraser). We visit regularly and nothing else near us compares. The sushi is always so fresh you can really taste even the most delicate fish, rolls are very nicely presented, restaurant is clean, & whatever they’re currently substituting for sriracha is so good I may actually prefer it to the OG Huy Fong version. The only issue we’ve ever had was with the service and wait but I will say the service has gotten better & I’m willing to wait for a good meal. Some of their rolls are very unique such as the beef roll and their vegan sushi. They truly have something for everyone. 10000/10, cannot wait until they re-open from...
