Last night we decided to order takeout. I live 20 minutes away so 40 minutes round trip. Certainly, not around the corner so we were hoping it would be worthwhile. Here's how our first experience went...At 5:31pm I called. First attempt I got a busy signal. I called right back and got through. I was asked if I could hold. I said "ok". Within a few seconds a young girl's voice asked how could she help me. I explained that I wanted to place an order for takeout. She asked if I had ordered from here before and my reply was "no, this is my first time". She said ok and asked for my first and last name and telephone number. She then proceeded to take my order. I gave my wife's order first which, a small veggie calzone with no olives and spinach. For myself I ordered a large keto veggie stromboli with no broccoli. This particular item was not on the menu and I only knew of it from checking out the restaurant's Facebook page. I also decided to try the keto peanutbutter cups which I couldn't find on menu, but saw it on Facebook page too. When I asked how they came I was told in singles...so I ordered two. I was informed "because of the boli it'll take 35 minutes". I said "no problem". I was never given the total before we ended the call. Knowing I was 20 minutes away, plus having to get ready I'd give it about 45.
I arrived at the restaurant at around 6:20pm. Upon walking to the counter I noticed immediately a sign saying all card payments were subject to a 4% processing fee. What? That was never disclosed over the phone and I clearly said this was my first time ordering. I was then told my order with fee was $41. I know sometimes healthier alternatives can be a bit more money, but over $20 for stromboli was a bit much for veggies, eggs, and cheese. The peanut butter cups were also like $2.75 a piece. $5.50 for two also was pricey. The total took me by surprise. The girl who I'm assuming also took my order (sounded the same) didn't say anything else to me. I thought she was going to pull my order from atop the pizza oven, but she grabbed someone else's order and went about helping the next customer. I did notice a few pizza boxes sitting up on top of the pizza oven and I assumed my order should have been ready by now.
Perhaps my order didn't come out yet because nobody had given it to me. I went to go sit down, waiting for the rest of my order. It is now around 6:40pm. I had been waiting for over 20 minutes for an order I called in at 5:31pm. I can see the the same girl continuing to help other customers while these two pizza boxes I noticed upon my arrival were still sitting there. She came nearby me noticing I looked annoyed. She asked "what was I waiting on"? I gave her my order and she went to look on top of pizza oven. I swear on my life she pulled the two pizzas boxes I noticed upon arriving that were already done. I said, "those were there the entire time and you never gave me my entire order". She apologized and walked back to whatever she was doing. Needless to stay I was even more annoyed because I wasted 20 more minutes when I could have simply been given my entire order at the time I paid for it. Ridiculous!
Upon getting home we noticed my wife's calzone was overcooked. The sauce to my stromboli was bland and tasteless. I knew it was sugar free. They certainly don't use any substitutes such as Swerve to give it more sweetness. For the price they charge they should. I added my own which helped it taste better. The overall taste of my stromboli was ok. I didn't think it was worth the price. I'm all for paying more for great service and execution. I got neither during my first experience here. Super disappointed! I'm around people all the time who are looking for healthier keto style options. And although I applaud the keto menu here, I will NOT recommend MariSal's to others as my first experience was...

It's been a couple years since I originally visited this location-- it's been that long since I was once again in York, PA.
Due to covid, the inside seating has been removed. And seeing as though we were passing through, we elected to eat in the car. But, let me tell you, this hasn't affected how delicious the pizza is.
My previous reviews mention the strange business neighbors (laundromat) connected and the difficulty the staff had in processing my order with a groupon voucher. Although the laundromat remains, the confusion with groupons has now been cleared up. The last couple of times I was in here for take away, the cashier had no problem with the groupon.
Keto diets are something this place now promotes, and other reviewers favorably enjoy those offerings. However, for me, it is the pizza that is delicious. In fact, I've made it a point to stop in here for pizza when in the area. No flavor has let us down yet!
It's still a mom-and-pop pizza/sandwich location and still delicious. I can't ask for anything more!
(October 2018)
Two of us decided to go here after finding a local groupon for pizza joints. The groupon said it was good for dine - in only, so we drove a few minutes to the location.
THE GOOD: The pizza was delicious; the chicken wings so greatly flavored with garlic (as requested) and the mozzarella sticks fat with cheese. We ended up with take-away, and even after a drive the items were still hot and delicious. The folks taking the order were all super friendly and accommodating.
The BAD: Everything and everyone seemed super disorganized. We were not sure where exactly we were going: The restaurant is attached to the side of a laundromat. Once inside, it is a mismash of ice cream parlour, takeaway counter, tables to eat on, and a connecting door to the laundromat. I couldn't find a menu online ahead to peruse; the menus are there at the counter. Three (friendly!) people tried to take the order, but for whatever reason only one could process it. The posted ice cream selection was incorrect; I watched one customer request flavor A and the ice cream person couldn't find that flavor in the counter flavors or in the back freezer, but found multiple containers of flavor B. It seemed another employee tried to close out the shift in the middle of serving ice cream, and finally, to top it off, a two year old was running around terrorizing the place while her parents munched on chips (although that last one is not the fault of the restaurant or it's staff).
Bottom line, though, is that this place has very, very good pizza, reasonably priced and very good 'other' food you'd associate with a pizza joint. Probably best for takeaway. I would not hesitate to return here.

Read moreI don’t ever when I got there the owner was making pizzas and I was told by many not to order if the owner is making pizzas but I didn’t know so when I got home and was dishing the pizza out I noticed it wasn’t cooked ! And it was super flimsy which is not how a pizza should be. I came in there before during the week and another lady made my pizza and is was fantastic ! I think you should keep her as your full time pizza maker because if pizzas keep going out the way they did Friday I will never be coming back . Next time I order ( if I do ) I will be making sure the owner is not making my pizzas ! Another issue is when you call and the counter people answer umm hello . I didn’t even know If I was calling a pizza shop . That is very not professional at all . All I can say is on the weekends I will never order pizza again if the owner is making them. I’m sorry but if you don’t know how to make a pizza let the person who knows how to make pizza do their job or you’re gonna lose your business. And to go in there and see how the employees are mistreated is ridiculous . They are the reason the your pizza shop is making it . Appreciate your employees and step up on making the counter girls more professional . Another incident I had was I was in there with my family eating and I just heard how rude the owner was to some customers and than some customers she favored . Being in business myself I treat all customers equally . She would make up prices and two customers came back to back and got the same thing but was rung up two different amounts doesn’t make sense . All I wanna say is you are slowly losing business with the way pizzas go wanna say is you are slowly losing business with the way pizzas go back because the pizza Friday was horrible . Now if it changes and the lady who made my pizza Monday if she continues to make pizzas I’ll definitely be back that was the best pizza it wasn’t raw and it didn’t just flop right over when I went to pick it up.aAnd I won't have to be complaining about uncooked...
