Great Jamaican Spot – Flavorful, Friendly, and Worth the Stop!
My wife and I found Reggae’s Jamaican Grill while out shopping. We were originally craving Haitian food, but there weren’t any nearby, so we searched for a Jamaican spot and landed here—and I’m glad we did.
The restaurant has a clean, welcoming setup with a beautiful layout—honestly, if I ever opened a food place, this is exactly the vibe I’d want. There were customers inside, and the woman working the front was very kind, managing everything by herself. She took care of orders one at a time, and even though she was alone, she handled it gracefully.
We ordered jerk chicken with rice and peas, cabbage, and asked for oxtail sauce on the side. We took the food home to eat, and let me tell you—it was very good. The chicken was flavorful and had just the right amount of heat for me (I’m not a huge spice lover), while my wife—who enjoys spicy food—thought it was perfect. The cabbage was well-cooked and seasoned just right. The rice and peas were fine for me, but my wife thought they could’ve used a little more flavor. Still, paired with the oxtail sauce and chicken, everything came together nicely.
She also ordered fried dumplings. They were a bit firm—likely made earlier in the day—but the cook was thoughtful enough to offer her an extra one for free. That kind of service goes a long way.
The total came to around $33 for two full plates, which is very reasonable for the area and the portion sizes. We were happy, full, and satisfied when we finished eating.
Would definitely recommend Reggae’s Jamaican Grill if you’re in the area and want something flavorful, authentic, and reasonably priced. I’m American, my wife is Haitian, and we both...
Read moreI went there for lunch about 11 am to order jerk chicken. The employee said let me check to see if the chicken was ready. She came back and said yes it is. I ordered jerk chicken. The jerk chicken was cold and it looked like a leftover chicken from the day before. I got one chicken leg and two small pieces of chicken bones with very little meat on them , and under neath those two bones were two small pieces of chicken backbone with no meat at all. So in reality I got only one leg. The rice and cabbage was ok, but the chicken leg was dry, cold and tasted horrible. I was charged $15.98 for this horrible little food! I feel that I was cheated. I love Jamaican food and culture, and have been eating Jamaican food especially jerk chicken all my life, but I was never served cold and leftovers food with such a small amount of chicken from any Jamaican restaurant before. This was my first visit to this restaurant and definitely my last! I do not recommend this lousy...
Read moreI'm not one to haggle over price or complain about price I'll pay for good food. However paid 70.00 and asked for extra meat and gravy along with plantains to get none! Very disappointing food was good however for the amount of food that was in the containers not worth it! I should have checked my food that's on me, but as a server you should adhere to your guest request! Ordered 3 meals and 3 beef patties & bread at 70.00 bucks wouldn't be bad if the portions were bigger. Lady was nice who took my order although my order was...
