Disappointed, underwhelmed, and grossed out. Have been coming here every summer since 2018 and so shocked to see such a major decline since our last visit a year ago. After several tries this summer, we sadly won't be going back. Biggest issue for us, there's a very icky sewage smell that slaps you in the face when you walk in the door. The first night we were in, we asked what the smell was. The young blonde woman that introduced herself as the manager rolled her eyes all the way to the ceiling and then told us she didn't smell anything. We drank our "specialty" cocktails and then the smell drove us out. Second try, we stopped in for lunch on the way to the beach. There was no host so we asked the bartender for menus. Sadly he was too busy discussing the ICE raids that were broadcasting on every TV (at max volume) to remember to bring them to our table... we ended up leaving after being ignored for 15-20 minutes. We then tried to go in for dinner, sat at the nearly empty bar, and met the bartender... who was apparently also the new manager. He then informed us that the kitchen was closed - at 8:15pm?!? A few minutes later, when the cook sat next to us at the bar, he told us the kitchen was closed because the new manager had cut the kitchen staff and that it wasn't possible for them to stay open late anymore. In years past we've stopped in for dinner after 8pm, or even 9pm, and always had the full menu available. On our last attempt this past weekend, we easily found two seats at the bar. While waiting for the bartenders to finish chatting at the other end of the bar so we could order... and simultaneously trying to ignore the sewage smell... we spotted so much mold and filth on the air vents, that we decided to call it quits. On our way out, we noticed the mold and filth was consistent on all the vents we could see throughout the dining room. Hate to post a bad review about one of our old favorite spots, but everything about this place has gotten so much worse since last summer that it needs to be said. Hope when we're back at the shore next year we can update with better news.

They have about 8 beers of draft and same in bottles. A few wines by glass or bottles. It is very loud and hard the hear anyone even with the bar area pretty empty, just because it's one giant room. They have a party menu and I believe they put you in the top elevated section, but you need a minimum of 20 people, which seems like it cant fit much more. It seems like a bar pub more than a restaurant. Bathrooms stink. Floors are sticky. The seats really hurt, they have studs in them which dig into your bottom, regular wood chairs are more comfortable. The booths and bar stools are cushions though. We wanted to do a party here, because we thought it would be as good as any other pub, but were sadly disappointed. Didn't even eat much of the food. We didnt say anything there though to not be rude. The appetizers are extensive and maybe we just picked the weaker items. The potato pancakes were so thick and it was a mix between mashed potato lumps and uncooked potato grated slices, no seasoning. The hard apple sauce was good, it was mostly just apple slices though and too little of the apple sauce. The outside crisp was good, but just too thick and came as 4 for $10. I got the country cork grilled chicken sandwich which is spinach and peppers, but asked without the cheese. Maybe the cheese made it, but the chicken wasnt seasoned the veggies were soggy and the baguette mostly bottom was completely soggy like it was sitting in it for hrs, they maybe need to toast it. We subbed for sweet potato fries, they were good but slightly burnt. The staff is super sweet though and it could just be those choices or a particular night we went. It was Friday dinner time and they were almost packed.

Best Irish breakfast I have ever eaten and it was on one of the busiest days of the year– the Belmar St Paddy's Parade! Every component of the breakfast was done to perfection: puddings, rashers etc. The Boxti cakes had a texture that I could not get enough of. Even the roasted tomato was a standout. Deb had fish and mash and she agreed the food was top notch! We started off with potato leek soup and knew we were in for a treat. As busy as it was, all the servers and bartenders kept an eye on us. We never had to ask! The only fly in the ointment was the young female hostess/gatekeeper who would not seat us until the menu switched over from brunch to lunch. Oddly, there were plenty of tables free on a day when no reservations were being taken. We asked why we could not sit and just not order until it was time for the lunch menu. She said she was following orders. When asked again why we had to stand in the doorway for another 10 minutes, that does not seem like good customer service, the young lady stated, somewhat agitated, that she honestly cared more about losing her job than customer service. We sat ourselves at the bar when 2 seats became available and had a great day! We will be back again; hopefully to be greeted in a more hospitable fashion...

Great food! If you are looking to go to a bar with loud live music then this is your place.

If you are looking for a quiet evening dinner....not so much.

The reason for 3 stars is.... I live seriously close to this place. I could walk here in less than 5 minutes. When I moved here 5 years ago we went here every 2-3 months. We brought friends and family not from the area to this restaurant. Everyone who ate the food raved about it. I want to impress upon you, that this is not a biased review. I hate giving reviews less than a 4 star unless they truly deserve it.

Somewhere about 3 years ago there was a shift at this place. It now feels like a local place where outsiders are not welcome. One day we came in on the later side for dinner. We stood at the hostess desk for close to 10 mins (the time it took to play 3 songs) with not one person acknowledging us. Not even a "give me one minute and I will be right with you"... Or a "sorry the kitchen is closed but you can go to the bar". Absolutely nothing. So we left. Came back a few weeks later and the same thing. Stood there for at least 5 mins....and nothing. So we walked out. So we stopped going here for about 6 months. Tried it again. Nothing changed... Stood there for 3 songs. No one came up to us. So we left. So a few months goes by...we walk in with the plan if they don't acknowledge us in 5 mins, we will just go to the bar and get a drink. So five mins goes by... We go to the bar. And guess what? We stood there for 3 songs. All the bartenders we're busy getting drinks for everyone else. When we saw them start serving the same people a second time, we looked around and realized a few patrons staring at us. So we left.

So now we let about 2 years go by. And Just recently decided to give it one more chance. I was surprised to see that nothing has changed. No one cared that we came to eat... Then no one cared that we came to drink... Then we got the feeling that no one sitting at the bar wanted us there. So we left for the last time. Unless we see a sign saying under new management. We won't go back.

So, if you want to come here earlier in the day, I am sure someone will seat you so you can enjoy the unique menu of good food they offer. I am also sure if you come here day in and day out and hang at the bar, that sooner or later they will accept you as a local. I am also sure you don't need to live less than a 1000' away to be considered a local. You just need to go there several times a week and crack the...

Wow. Just got back from here and what. an. experience. First of all, we order two draft beers and were told that the draft beer "isn't working". Order two wines. One wine is not the wine we ordered. The wine we originally received was sent back and the correct wine delivered to the table. Food was fine. Waitress never checked on us, so we had to wait until our meals were just about gone before we were able to request ketchup for our fries. Then the real fiasco began. Ask for the check and it was delivered. We're charged for the wine we didn't order AND the correct wine. We wait 10 minutes for the waitress to come back and I ask for that to be removed. 5+ minutes later, the waitress brings the check again. I hand her money and ask for change. 5+ minutes later, she brings me change and tells me she "had to go all over the universe for change" (it was $28 change, for the record). When I open the booklet, I find that she has brought me the incorrect change, shorting me $7. I wait another solid 5+ minutes to tell her, but she doesn't come back. I ask ANOTHER server for a manager. A few minutes later, the waitress comes back again to ask what's wrong. I tell her she brought the incorrect change and she grabs the booklet with the original change and takes it away. ANOTHER 5+ minutes goes by and she re-emerges to hand me the new change (less 25 cents - whatever) and apologizes by telling me she's bad at math and asking what the original change amount she gave me was (She literally took the original change away, so...). The waiter I asked for a manager stopped back and asked if the manager came out. I told him she didn't and he said he specifically asked her to come out. Oh, well. Why bother with customer service at that point?!? Had I not spent more than half an hour dealing with issues on my check, I probably wouldn't have been angry enough to write this review, but unlike my waitress, I follow up on things. Very, very less than pleased with the...
