I love scones. My son went to University in the UK and my favorite thing to get while there is the Scones. I have yet to have a bad one there. I have however had some not so good ones here. I saw this shop while visiting Surf and Waves down the street from them. I was excited to find a shop specifically for scones. Excited that I may have finally found something close to the UK. First off, I love the name. Very creative and perfect tribute to a beloved landmark here in NJ. Unfortunately they are close to a meat shop. The smell coming from the garbage outside that meat shop was horrendous and stomach turning. We rushed into the crowded shop to get away from it. It's a tight squeeze, but I can see why. The array of delicious treats that was there to browse at and pick to purchase was amazing. We chose our items. The amount of flavors for the scones was great! I chose the Blueberry Lemon and the Cinnamon chip with vanilla bean drizzle. They were both very good. The texture was probably the closest I've found here to what I've had in England. So I'm ecstatic about that. They also sell clotted cream, which was expensive, but definitely a great addition to the scones. We did have to wait 15 minutes for the cinnamon to be done baking, but it was so worth it. They did offer to give me different flavors if I didn't want to wait. I definitely didn't want to wait outside with the smell, so we did stay inside. Its completely not their fault about the smell. There is nothing they can do about it. It's unfortunate and hopefully not like that all the time. I look forward to trying more flavors in the future! The staff was very kind, efficient and helpful!

We discovered this place by chance. While we were waiting to be seated for lunch, we took a stroll. Just around the corner we see this cute little bake shop hustling and bustling with people. With the amount of people in and out and waiting, we said to ourselves we have to give this place a try. Inside it is snug but you can see the magic happen as you have a direct view of the kitchen. There was definitely a line/wait but the employees were all quick and friendly and all the customers seemed to know what they were in for so it made for an enjoyable experience. Despite how busy it was, we got our order relatively quickly. As you can tell from my rating, we enjoyed every bit of our scones. Definitely a must try when in the area. We had blueberry and plain. 👍👌

Used to live in Spring Lake Heights and loved coming here. I never liked scones till I had their's. Now I live in PA, and whenever I am in the area, I place an order or stop by. Went 5 weeks ago and got a Pumpkin Scone with Cream Cheese frosting. So good!!! I usually get chocolate chip scones for myself, but my family loves the lemon poppy and blueberry. One time, they ran out of chocolate chip ones but kindly offered to drizzle chocolate on a vanilla bean one for me. They also have amazing cinnamon buns!!! Not the cheapest scones, but good quality I will pay for. It can get crowded, especially in the summer, but staff are always pleasant.

I Bike 50 miles on Sundays through Spring Lake...apon completion, there is no place on earth I would rather be than at the "Scone Pony"!!! I Love the Beautiful Owner (husband too) and Staff. Why? Always friendly under stress. Always overly accommodating (a culture of service long forgotten). Additionally, its the warmest, home-like appeal available in Nj. Small, aromatic, and full of celebratory love. "How's the bakery " you ask!!!... Embarrassingly, when "Harry met Sally" You know THAT scene. I found myself saying I'll take what she's having!! Cakes, Scones, Key lime Pie, Brownies, Blueberry Cheese Crumbcake ...OMG...Round 2... this is the exceptional quality at a reasonable price. Psst... you are buying Love, it's priceless and timeless...
