My mom and I love this place! It's hard to find a place that offers diversity in your breakfast (as well as healthy options) and great service but this place hits the mark on all counts and we keep coming back.
I'm obsessed with their Eggs Bruchetta (I get mine w egg whites and they don't skimp when I do). My mom loves the Applewood smoked bacon, spinach and gruyere omelet. Not gonna l, I always steal a bite of hers and it does not disappoint.
Staff is awesome, from Laurie, the hostess with the mostess, who always greets us with a smile and lends an extra hand when the wait staff gets busy, right down to the servers themselves.
Stephanie is our favorite! She makes serving breakfast look easy and joyful and anyone who ever has, knows some days it really isn't. Even the food runners, always address us with an upbeat demeanor and a warm hello.. a simple human courtesy which seems to get harder to come across these days with a younger generation but these kids were raised right and taught to engage.
I do love the Croque Madame too and their lattes. I have no doubt the rest of the menu lives up to the hype, as I keep insisting I am going to try this or that next time i am in because it looks so good when passing my table but i am a creature of habit and that egg bruchetta calls my name whenever I enter the restaurant. Yum... now I'm getting hungry...might have to cheer up this rainy day with a visit to Laurie and the gang at Marigolds today!
PS Bravo to chef Maryanne for her culinary skills and for picking a great staff to represent...
Read moreThis place is new so I really hope it gets better but we won't be back any time soon. We arrived at 11:30 which is when the menu switches from breakfast to lunch and you can't order off the breakfast menu. That was ok, but then it took 40 (!) minutes for our food to arrive since the kitchen is switching from the breakfast to lunch menu. That should have been told us when we ordered since our kids were starving. Then when I received my meal (some kind of grilled salmon/quinoa, the fish was completely uncooked through. Like as in raw. Im a cook so I know what salmon should look like. Sadly I had to return it to the kitchen. When the new dish came back I couldn't believe it- the new piece of salmon was, that's right, still raw. This was not sushi grade salmon, so needless to say I didn't eat it and didn't even bother saying anything the second time. They did take my meal off the bill, but at that point I was really disappointed. Place looks nice but someone in the kitchen just doesn't know what he's doing. We may return to try the breakfast menu, but not for a long time, until they figure out how to...
Read moreMy girlfriend and I went there for last Saturday breakfast. and met my sister there, as we all grew up in Spring Lake. Food was good. Waitress was a little nonattentive. We asked for coffee refills twice and had to get our coffee filled by the young girl bussing the tables. When the waitress came back after about 10 minutes, she said, "Oh, I guess someone beat me to it." When in college, I worked at Kelly's Tavern as a bartender and also waiting tables on Saturday nights. They are like us, a fifth generation family, living here, and family friends. The establishment should take notes. Also, i understand the "WOKE" movement with people expressing their "identity" but my sister, an Elementary School Teacher, locally, found it a bit unsanitary and distracting having a girl with nose pins and metal in her nostrils, serving food over top of us. We are going to "WOKE" down the street to another eatery next breakfast family outing. Good luck with the customer service. FYI. The average unsatisfied customer directly tells another 13 people about their experience, not to mention...
